At the media launch, to the pleasure of all those present, Evelyn was no shrinking violet when
it came to her singing and musical talents. And needless to say, all eyes (ears, too) were
on the affable, girl-next-door singer-actress.
Held at a popular tea house
in Singapore earlier this week, the locale was perfect for Evelyn to
sing 'live' two of her tracks from her debut, accompanied by her own
playing of the piano and the guitar.
Singing's definitely her lesser-known talent: Evelyn held her own
at the conference, crooning two tracks from her album Unspoken Understanding. If
you ask us, we'd even say that she could be the next Valen Hsu in-the-making!
Though 24-year-old had picked up the guitar only recently in the
last couple of months or so, Evelyn seemed rather adept on the instrument when it came to
the song 'Whole-heartedly' from her album. Evelyn revealed later that in fact, this is
only song she could pluck on the guitar cos the tune did not involve any complicated bar
chords.
You really wouldn't know this unless we told ya: Evelyn has played
the piano since she was in primary school, and is currently at Grade 6. At the launch
event, she displayed her love for music by playing her favourite piece from Richard
Clayderman on the piano.
