Episode 1 (series 4) 66

All the guys are getting angry at Steve, who hasn’t stuck to any promises he’s made recently. He went away to take photos before Allie woke up and wasn’t seen after that yet. Allie’s looking for a new flat mate because she can’t pay the rent alone with her brother. Bolton asks Allie for permission to move in, and she accepts it.

Matt’s father comes to the school, and the first thing he does is finding faults with his son. He always did that before too, as he wants his son to become just as successful in everything as he is. But Matt gets very annoyed due to this behavior. When his father finds two tests with too low marks, to his way of thinking, he tells Matt to resume living with his parents. Then Matt coincidentally pushes Dingdong in a game of basketball, wanting to bash Bolton who’s provoking him, and he gets suspended for two weeks. This makes his father furious. Matt tells his father he doesn’t want to become just like him at all, and Jim talks to his brother-in-law too, and tells him Matt isn’t given a chance to realise his father does actually love him, having been critisised since he was very little. Jim also points out if Matt’s father will go on like this he might lose his son for good. Therefore Matt’s father goes to Andrew and asks him to undo his son’s suspension, whish he does. Matt, who overheard the conversation, thanks his father who promises he won’t put so much pressure on him again, and appologises for what he’s done all those years. Matt can stay at Jim’s place.

Allie and Danielle are getting worried about Steve, who’s been missing for two days now. When Deloraine gets a phone call and tells Allie and herr brother fell off a cliff and died, everybody’s extremely shocked. Dani runs away, crying hysterically. Later on Allie, Matt and Dani visit the place where the accident happened.

Episode 2 (series 2/3) 67

Con has promised to edit a special issue of the Hartley Times, dedicated to Steve, and the guys have all handed in some copy. But Con is feeling bad because he doesn’t feel like mourning at all, and he thinks he’s forgotten about his friend already. He’s working on a music magazine instead of the school newspaper, and gathers the articles mainly by plagiarising old issues of other mags. Soon Con receives a fax from a big record company in the USA, which announces to sue him! Luckily later on Kat confesses she sent the fax because she got angry finding out about him not working on the newspaper for Steve. Con is still feeling bad about not mourning enough, but Kat explains to him he isn’t able to because he’s in a state of shock.

The police interrogate Allie and Dani about Steve. They assume he might have committed suicide, and Dani says Steve was down because he had a fight with her. Allie’s a bit angry at her for telling the coppers exactly what they wanted to hear, because she thinks Steve fell off a cliff coincidentally whilst taking photos. Unfortunately no camera has been found. But when the guys open Steve’s locker and find a cam, Allie still believes there’s another one. When Danielle goes to the scene of the accident, she finds the camera! Con develops its film and there are pictures of the cliff on it, including one taken when Steve fell. The gang gathers near the cliff and they all say a few words about and to him.

Rhonda Brooks, or preferably Ronnie, is Sam’s replacement teacher; Matt has moved into Steve’s room, which Dani didn’t approve at first, but eventually she did agree.

Episode 3 (series 2/3) 68

Con’s off to Melbourne for a few days without telling why, and so Kat feels free to borrow his car. But when she’s giving Bolton, whose blades have broken down, a lift, and is feeling really cool, she bumps into a fence. When she takes the car to the garage the guy there tells her fixing it will cost 800 bucks. Therefore Kat agrees to having Bolton fixing it in exchange for one night out with her. When it turns out he’s painted one door purple Kat takes the car to the garage again, to be told the bill has gone 300 bucks up as a result of that.

The class, especially Matt, is fed up with their maths teacher Athol. He has taught at Hartley for thirty years already, but now he’s become incapable of teaching them good enough to make them pass the exam. He keeps on presuming he’s dealt with certain subjects whereas he hasn’t, and therefore Matt talks to the others about draft a petition. Delo is quite angry when he gets the petition which is signed by many students, as that’s an official complaint. But when Delo gets convinced and talks to Athol later, the teacher realises he can’t teach the seniors anymore and hands in his resignation shortly after that.

In the meantime Kat has been trying to collect money for the repair of the car by betting on horses with the pointers of Athol, a fervent horse better. When Bolton’s blades break down on the way to the racetrack and they miss out on winning, Kat’s mad. But as she gets home, she finds the car fixed and is very glad. Unfortunately Roberto and Helen, who’ve paid for the repair, aren’t glad about her betting on horses, and make her do a lot of odd jobs around the house...

Danielle is acting pretty weird: she seems quite happy and active at one time, and is pretty aggressive the other time. When Allie thinks she sees Dani giving money to Bolton, she supposes Bolton’s selling drugs to her, but Bolton assures her he was borrowing money to her, which is the truth. Dani goes to the beach and buys pills from a guy.

Episode 4 (series 2/3) 69

Deloraine isn’t at school, and neither is Matt. They haven’t told anyone why. Then an acting principal, June Dyson, comes to Hartley and she tells the teachers Delo has had a second heart attack and isn’t coming back anymore.

Dyson asks Danielle about her low marks, and advises her to go to therapy. But the only thing on Dani’s mind is how to pay her dealer. When she leaves her locker open and Ronnie is smart enough to check it, she finds drugs. She tells Dyson about it, who calls Dani and her mum into her office. Mrs. Miller is sure someone played a dirty trick on her daughter, but Dani confesses the drugs were hers and gets expelled by the new principal, in order to keep the school drug-free.

Bolton tries to stop Dani’s dealer, and asks her to give him in to the police. But she refuses. Matt takes Allie to the hospital, even hough his uncle wanted his heart attack to remain secret, and they both ask Deloraine to put in a good word for Dani, but he tells them he can’t do that as he isn’t the principal anymore. When Matt and Allie are gone again he reconsiders the matter. When Dani has started going to therapy and has denounced the dealer as well, Ronnie asks Dyson to give her one more chance, as she’s never had any trouble before. June Dyson still refuses, but when Delo phones her after all she tells Dani she can come back to Hartley on condition that she’ll never use drugs again. At home Dani tells her mum she needs more space, and eventually she moves into the warehouse.

Danielle and the others visit Delo in hospital to thank him.

Episode 5 (series 2/3) 70

Allie wants Danielle to start going out again and to have more fun, and therefore starts looking for a suitable guy. She gets Matt to call his cousin. First Dani isn’t enthusiastic about a blind date at all, but eventually she does go. Unfortunately after spending some time with a guy at the Shark Pool she finds out he isn’t Matt’s nephew, so she’s been talking to the wrong guy!

Con reckons he isn’t able to manage the Shark Pool full-time anymore as he wants to get into the entertainment business again, and so he’s looking for a manager. Kat recommends a mate of hers who used to manage a well-known pub, and Con wants the guy to become his partner. The problem is that the guy is trying to hit on Kat, and moreover, only trying to make money over Con’s back, by changing the Shark Pool into some amusement arcade and letting Con pay for it. Con sacks him immediately when he finds out.

When Bolton is in an attempt on a blading record through the school, he accidentally bumps into Dyson who demands he hands in his blades even though he isn’t carrying any shoes, and will start collecting trash later on. But stubborn Bolton goes playing baskie with his mates instead, so Dyson distrains the basketball, which is Matt’s, as well. In order to get his stuff back, Bolton breaks into the school in the morning but he gets caught. Meanwhile Dingdong has organised a trip to an Atomic Research Institute, which was Bolton’s idea. When Bolton tells the guys Dyson has prohibited his going on the trip as a punishment they all go on a strike. Dyson refuses to let the class go when they’re on detention, untill eventually Bolton appologises to her. She puts him on a detention only, and returns his blades to him, which were broken. She even got them fixed!

Episode 6 (series 2/3) 71

June calls Con into her office to tell him he’s been accepted into a student exchange program to Los Angeles! Unfortunately Katerina isn’t as glad about it as he is, mainly because he never told her about the idea before, and she’s so devoted to him she tries all she can to make him stay, showing a lot selfishness. First she tries to get to the States as well, but later on she gets that idea out of her mind and actually tells him she’s pregnant, which makes him change his mind about going. He’s even about to ask her to marry him when, encouraged by Ronnie, she tells him her pregnancy was a lie. Kat also says he really should go.

Dingdong lends his laptop to Allie, who needs to finish an article for the school newspaper the next day and is having problems with the rather old school computers. This arouses quite some jealousy with the others, who reckon Andrew should give them all a computer and not just her. Allie returns the computer to Andrew after finishing the article. Matt gets an idea about what he wants to do after school: work in a night club. In this way he can earn a living and keep surfing too!

Ronnie and Andrew meet eachother in a park by chance; Ronnie’s doing some power walking and Andrew’s jogging. She challenges him to go power walking with her later on when he scoffs at it, to show him it’s not as easy as he thinks. And he can’t endure it for an hour indeed!

Con starts trying to sell his car to his mates and eventually Matt agrees to buying it, provided that Con will get him a job. Con employs Matt at the Shark Pool, which is now managed by Roberto.

Episode 7 (series 2/3) 72

Bolton finally gets Kat to go on a date with him, but when new guy Declan, who defeated Bolton at the Shark Pook in a game of pool and made him pay 50 bucks for it, comes to Hartley, Kat seems more interested in him just like Dani, and Bolton starts challenging Dec-head. He was expelled at his last school after beating a guy into hospital however, and refuses to fight Bolton, who keeps threatening him. Declan already got a warning from June. When Bolton’s at the Shark Pool holding a pool ball Declan was about to play, and won’t move even though Declan asks him calmly to, he plays the ball and Bolton ends up with a wounded hand.

Katerina’s still feeling bad about Con’s departure, and is late for dancing class due to that. Ronnie won’t allow her to join the class because she’s missed the warming up and is more prone to injury now. Kat gets really angry at her and tells Bolton she’s like to destriy Ronnie’s ghettoblaster. When Bolton’s at school early as a punsihment, he gets the chance to nick the blaster and does so. Because Bell saw him he is suspect number one and gets called into June’s office together with Declan, who saves him by providing an alibi.

Roberto invites Allie and Matt for dinner for some reason, and when is comes to light he used to be good at cross-country running, Matt asks him to train him as he wants to do that too. Allie reckons she can beat the guys and Helen encourages her, and it turns out she’s just as good as them. In fact better, as Roberto’s condition turns out to be far worse than Helen thinks.

Bolton shows the stolen blaster to Declan and suggests to sell it and share the profit, but Declan reckons he’s crazy. Bolton also shows it to Kat, who isn’t happy about it at all, as he stored it in her locker! When Kat tells Declan about the radio he decides to help her. Later on loud music is suddenly audible throughout the entire school, and Bell is quite mad about it and goes looking for the radio. He finds Ronnie’s blaster after a very long search and when he sees Declan standing apart and laughing about it, he knows he did it as he’s a lot better at physics than Bolton.

Episode 8 (series 2/3) 73

A new girl is delivered at Hartley in a truck, and she goes to the toilet straight away to put on make up and put her nerdy dress off. Her name is Stassy. The others don’t fancy her looks, but unlike the others Declan doesn’t treat her bad.

In an attempt to make a move at Declan, Kat steals his wallet in order to return it to her later and make herself look good. But when she tells Declan she thinks someone is going to return it to him later on he says whoever it is will be beaten up by him. So she visits his mother and gives the wallet to her. Mrs. Costello is fond of Katerina’s company, but when Declan sees her leaving he tells her not to visit again.

Stassy and Kat fight in one of Andrew’s classes, so he puts Stassy on detention. She begs him to let her go, but he won’t, so she starts removing her make-up and gets herself a more decent hairdo in the classroom. When she can finally go her father is there to pick her up, asking why she’s late. She tells him a teacher wanted to see her alone in a classroom. But her father takes that very seriously and lodges a complaint against Dingdong with June Dyson. She temporarily suspends him, at least until the case has been investigated. But when Dyson discusses the matter with Stassy and her father, she admits she lied because she’s really scared of her father. Stassy appologises to everyone and the gang invites her to the Shark Pool, but her father doesn’t allow her to go.

Kat finds her locker empty and it’s pretty obvious Declan did that.

Episode 9 (series 2/3) 74

There’s a cleaner at Hartley who’s mentally handicapped to a very small extent. Most students treat him bad, but Dani’s really sweet to him.

Ronnie gives the class the assignment to watch an old horror movie which is on the telly that night, because she’ll be dealing with Frankenstein in the next class. Allie and Matt are off to a party held because it’s Friday the 13th however, and Bolton is off too, so Dani watches the movie alone at the warehouse. There’s a thunderstorm, and everything’s rattling at the warehouse. Then the phone rings, but when Dani answers it, although it does sound like there’s someone there, she doesn’t get a reply. This happens several more times, and after a while Dani gets so scared she calls Kat, who comes over to the warehouse in her pyjamas. Then they get another phone call and shortly after that they decide to warn the police, also because they heard someone trying to open the door. After the coppers are gone they block the door.

When Matt asks Allie for a dance, she recommends he asks Stassy, because she wants more time alone. And so he does, but when the lights go off due to a stroke of lightning, they kiss. Right after that they talk about it and reckon it may never happen again. Later on Matt and Allie go home, but at that time Dani and Allie are asleep, so they don’t hear the two knocking, so they have to sleep in Matt’s car.

The next morning the police calls; they’ve arrested Bolton, who was trying to break into the warehouse because he forgot his keys, and Dani and Allie have to come to the cop shop to confirm he lives with them. Danielle still suspects he called her, but when talking to the cleaner later on, she recognises his voice. It turns out he called her and broke into her house to leave her a present, but with good intentions: he just wanted to be her friend. June has to dismiss him because he broke the rules, but she does get him a new job.

Episode 10 (series 2/3) 75

June Dyson’s son Gary, who’s in a wheelchair, comes to Hartley. Bolton helps him a bit, and so June invites him for dinner. They become mates.

When Danielle gets herself in a room with Declan, they see Matt and Stassy kiss. Declan tells her not to talk about it to anyone. Matt tells Allie he really really loves her, which she really appreciates, but later on Stassy comes to the warehouse with a sham. She didn’t know Allie and Matt lives together. When, at school, Stassy tells Matt never to touch her again, Allie sees through her boyfriend and gets really angry at him, and also at Dani for not telling her what she knew. Allie tells Matt to move out, or she will.

June gets the school some new computers, and she employs her son to teach the teachers and some students about them. But he discredits his mother, as he blames him for his accident because she wasn’t there for him enough. June also reckons her career always came before her motherhood, but when Ronnie talks to her and Bolton talks to her son, they make up at the end and Gary moves in with his mum permanently.
