Confidential was the best reviewed film of 1997. It was released in the
early fall '97 and is still grossing money. It has broken records for the
amount of critic awards it has recieved and the amount of top ten lists
it has been on. I saw this movie on 9/27/97 and immediately fell in love
with it. I have since seen it two more times
in theaters and enjoy it everytime. The story centers around the
action of three Los Angeles cops. After a multiple homicide, the
three cops discover that they have to work together in order to uncover
the truth. A prostitution ring, drugs, and tabloid journalism all
intertwine to create a smart and intellectual story. LAC has brought back
the noir style to Hollywood and for its efforts has recieved 9 Ocsar nominations-
Best Motion Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actress, Best Adapted
Screenplay, Best Score for a Drama, Best Cinematography, Best Editing,
Best Sound, and Best Art Direction. Of course it won for Best Adapted
Screenplay and Best Supporting Actress (Go Kim!). Disclaimer:
