Several years ago, Dr. Osamu Teduka died on February 9th. The largest second-handed comic book dealer in Japan, "Mandarake" wants to establish the cartoon day on February 9th in memory of Teduka.
On the other hand, Tokyo Stock Exchange (Second Section) is boomed on Kadokawa Shoten's stocks on 02/08/99. The price was 9,990 yen. On 11/28/98, the first price was 4,060 yen. It is said the boom came from its Taipei projects. Kadokawa is scheduled to publish a town magazine "Taipei Walker." As I wrote here formerly, Kadokawa formerly published a weekly magazine "Tokyo Walker." Several years ago, a famous town magazine "Pia" monopolized such the town magazine market. However "Tokyo Walker" won the market race. Now Kadokawa publishes "Tokyo Walker" "Yokohama Walker" "Kansai Walker" and "Kyushu Walker."

Next, a great cartoonist Shoutarou Ishinomori left a cartoon plan "Voice-lugger." "Voice-lugger" means a voice slugger. It was his last work.
But he could not publish his original cartoon book on the theme. Therefore his Ishimori Production succeeded to the original theme. As i wrote, TV-Tokyo began to broadcast a real performance show "Voice-lugger" on 01/13/99. The show became more popular day by day. Especially Akiko Nakagawa plays a realistic performance. It is admired.
On 02/10/99, Michie Tomizawa appears at the latest film of Voice-lugger. She plays the role of an evil queen "Aira Schrein." She is 159 cm tall. As you know, she was an action actress for martial arts working for Japan Action Club (JAC). Therefore she is good at playing a fight scene.

She was born on 10/20/1961. She is 37 years old. But it is said that she runs rapidly. As you know, she is very famous for Sailor Mars. At TV-anime series of "Sailor Moon" she played the role of Sailor Mars in 1992-1997. Then she got very popular. Thereafter a famous video game title "Sakura Wars" was released. She played the role of Sumire Kanzaki. The role was also very popular.
Recently she played the role of "Senkou No Hikari (Hikari the Flash)" of Ninja Master from TV-anime type "Ah! My Goddess."

Now the Wonder Festival (1999 Winter) was held on 02/07/99 at Tokyo Big Sight, Ariake, Tokyo. At the opening event, a "Voice-lugger" show was held there. More than 500 fans came to see the event at 12:00 pm. (Of course, at such real performance shows, heroes will change themselves into supermen. Then martial art stunt men get in stuffed dolls to play fight scenes. (JAC employed a lot of stunt men.)
Usually pre-arranged stunt men play supermen using stuffed dolls in TV-series. Such pre-arranged stunt men will not appear these performances in the events usually. At such events, other unpopular actors play supermen in Japan.
However in that event, the same pre-arranged stunt men that appear at TV-series play the roles of superman-type Voice-luggers. Moreover Tomokazu Seki, Takeshi Kusao and Michie Tomizawa appeared at the event.
Especially Tomokazu Seki showed a martial art performance to fight against evil characters. (I saw his performance at an event of cinema-type CLAMP's X. Of course, he is the leader of Troop Hero-Hero Q. He is good at martial arts.)
To our surprize, Michie Tomizawa showed a performance that she fought against the pre-arranged stunt men that played the roles of superman-type Voice-luggers. She used martial arts. She was very strong.
After the fight performance, Tomokazu said, "She runs rapidly. In the TV series, she often gave me a hard time."
Perhaps in the TV-series, among the main voice actors, both Michie and Tmokazu can only use martial arts in earnest. Moreover Michie worked as a professional martial art actress. Michie might have fought against him in earnest.
The rating was not so small. So they plan the part 2 of Voice-lugger. Such "Tokusatsu Hero Series (real performance shows with special effects and fantastic heroes)" usually have a lot of fixed promises (Japanese: "oyakusoku"). The staff promised us it would keep such fixed promises. The original promises were arranged by Toei. Toei made a lot of real performance films for children in 1950s-70s. In 1970s, Toei began to produce a real performance TV series "Shoutarou Ishinomori's Maskman Rider." In the series, such promises were fixed. The Voice-lugger staff said, "We'll keep the golden promises."

The wonderful event ended at 12:30.
Forever Michie Tomizawa!

It is said The Wonder Festival is the largest event on figure doll sales in the world. Amateur figure doll manufacturers can also sell their own dolls there if they can get one-day copyright on anime characters.

Kaiyodo held the festival at East 1-3 Halls of Tokyo Big Sight. I saw a lot of people, dealers (so-called Guests) and amateur manufacturers. I found three features.

1. "Card Captor Sakura" was still the most popular character in the event. Dealers sold Sakura figures at 2,000-12,000 yen.
2. "Mamotte Shugogetten" got popular. Kaiyodo sold their 30,000-yen large Xiao-Ring figure at 20,000 yen. The model was very popular.
3. The price of Nakoruru figure doll was not so low. About 6,500 yen. Of course, when you buy it (a kit), you must assemble it and color it skillfully. Perhaps it cost you more than 10,000 yen.
