Ranma, from being sweet and affectionate to
being completely ruthless.
She is particularly merciless and violent when it comes to fighting for
Ranma. She is always trying to find a way to get rid of her rivals
(Ranma's multiple fiancees) so she can have Ranma all to herself.
Shampoo being the most affectionate of Ranma's fiancees will clutch/clomp
onto Ranma at anytime and cook him his favourate meals. When that doesn't
win his heart over, Shampoo will blackmail Ranma into going into dates with her.
Like the time she promised to give Ranma a packet of nannichuan mix (which will revert him into a complete male)
on the condition that he goes on a date with her. However that's not where her
obsession ends. She'll go to the extent of using her herbs,
potions and magic to make
him love her.
At this point one might ask if she really loves him and the
answer is
YES! She loves him more than anyone else. In season 2
of TV episode #14 Shampoo gave
Mousseweapons which backfired on him in the fight (which had her as the prize) he had with Ranma.
This indicates that Shampoo wanted Ranma to win even if he truly wasn't the strongest. Of
course Ranma is the strongest and would have beaten
Mousse easily anyway. Guess that is why Shampoo loves him so.
She is also bounded by her
Tribal Law to marry the strongest man.
Ranma towards Shampoo
:
Out of all Shampoo's rivals, apart from
Akane,
Shampoo really has a good chance of ending up
to be his wife. As Ranma doesn't like
Kodachi's
personality or behaviour and sees
Ukyou
more as a friend. Ranma really does like Shampoo, as he shows in
OAV:
Desparately seeking Shampoo. However he finds her too violent
and doesn't like her ruthless methods
-particularly when she tries to kill Akane. The fact that
Shampoo's
curse make her take the form of a cat doesn't help, as Ranma has
a phobia of cats!
Analysis of Shampoo & Ranma as a couple:
Shampoo and Ranma would make a great couple,
if not perfect. Shampoo's
uninhibited nature is just what Ranma needs. As Ranma has difficulties
in showing his feelings and is rather insecure about his change into
his female form. With Shampoo he will never need to worry about all
those insecurities, because Shampoo doesn't care and loves him just
the way he is. Unlike Akane, Shampoo has no probrems in showing Ranma
how she feels towards him. These two complement each other
quite nicely. Ranma is what Shampoo needs too. He is the only one
qualified to be her husband according to her Tribal Law, and she
truly loves him. However no swimming for this couple!
