American Weapons

Ultimate Weapon

I know Ultimate Weapon is in both the American version and the Japanese version of the Final Fantasy Game, but I wanted to include it anyhow. In order to defeat Ultimate Weapon, you must be on Disc 3. The Weapon can first be found in the Junon area hovering over a lake. Fly into it to begin combat. You should set up Wall as soon as possible and begin to hit the Weapon with your strongest attacks. It will eventually fly off.

You have to chase Weapon around and only when it lands are you able to attack it. I suggest constantly ramming it, because it seems to make the Weapon land quicker at a town. It likes to hover over Nibelheim, Midgar, or Mideel. When it finally settles over Cosmo Canyon, you know that this is the last fight.

Don't worry about the Weapon healing itself. It is impossible for it to use healing powers! When you kill Weapon, you find a forest called the Ancient Forest will be opened up for you to enter. Definately go in there to rack up some points and get some pretty awesome weapons. Also, when you defeat Ultimate Weapon, you get Cloud's Ultimate Weapon.

Emerald Weapon

This is one of two of the toughest American Weapons! Emerald can attack with about 7000 points of damage and can easily kill everyone in your party. There is also a time limit, unless you get the Underwater Materia first.

To get the Underwater Materia you must first go into the Underwater Reactor and Morph a creature called the Ghost Ship. You will get an item called the Guide Book. Take the item to the town of Kalm. You will find a man there who will want you to collect three items--the Guide Book, Earth Harp, and the Desert Rose. In exchange for the Guide Book you will get the Underwater Materia. Now go back to Emerald Weapon.

First know this: It's basic attack is about 7000 points damage, it's smaller lasers, when open, can h it a party with eight attacks in a row! Some of those attacks can do anywhere from 3000 to 4000 points damage. The other lasers only drain 300 to 500 MP with each hit. Emerald Weapon can also hit with its Super Weapon for a total of 9999 points of damage to each character.

You must have a lot of HP and MP to even stand a chance against the Weapon and Mastered Materia is a MUST! You should use the W-Summon to cast two Knights of the Round and have each member of your party equipped with Mime. If they can Mime the summons, you can cast an endless chain of Knights of the Round until you destroy Weapon. Also, keep equipped the Final Attack--Revive Materia combination. You will receive the Harp for this battle. (See below for what these mean.)

Ruby Weapon

Ruby Weapon only appears once you've destroyed the Ultimate Weapon. Fly into the Weapon near the Golden Saucer and begin combat. When the Weapon's claws are in the sand--attack it! If the claws aren't buried and you attack, it will cause the Weapon to use its quicksand attack. This eliminates a character--usually Cloud. It usually uses it twice anyhow so be warned. Use Quad Magic and Bahumat ZERO if you can, but I don't suggest using the Knights of the Round. This usually causes the Weapon to hit you with Ultima. Be sure you are equipped with Final--Atttack Revive or you're in major trouble. You will get the Desert Rose. See below for what the Rose is for.

What Are All These Treasures I Get When I Kill A Weapon?

Those items can be traded at the town of Kalm to a man there. He is looking for the Guide Harp, Desert Rose and Earth Harp. If you have them, this is what he will give you!

The Guide Book will be traded in for the Underwater Materia to battle the Emerald Weapon without the 20 minute time limit.

The Earth Harp will be traded in for the Master Summon, Master Magic and Master Command Materia.

The Desert Rose will be traded in for a GOLD CHOCOBO! Not bad huh?
