Exclusive interview with REI AYANAMI

    We met with Rei at her summer home in Spokane, Washington to discuss her life and new career moves.  She looked good, obviously taking care of herself since her days on the popular "Neon Genesis Evangelion".  We asked her everything, about her love life, her future and her family.

REISPACE:  Thanks for having us here Rei.   You look good today.
REI:  Yes thank you, I owe it to this marvellous Washington weather.

RS:  You have a beautiful home, would it be cliche to ask who does your decorating?
REI:  (laughs)  You're so funny.
RS:  Yes, I know that.

RS:  So, I guess I'll ask the EVA questions first.  That's what most people want to hear.
REI:  Oh geez... okay, lets have it.

RS:  Do you still keep in contact with any of the old gang?
REI:  No, not really.  When I last talked to Asuka she was checking into the Betty Ford clinic... tragic.

RS:  We figured the only abuse she would have was the kind you beat into her.
REI:  (laughs)  That doesn't sound too bad!

RS:  So, what are you future plans then?
REI:  I'm writing a book right now called "Through the eyes of an Angel"... it's somewhat autobiographical.  After that I'm signed to do an action movie with Jerry Seinfield and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

RS:  That's an unusual combination.
REI:  It's an unusual movie.

RS:  Fair enough.  How about relationships?  Last we heard, the rumormill had you and Bruce Willis as an item.
REI:  Not true, there was something, but he said I was too old for him.

RS:  Too old?
REI:  He's a strange man.

RS:  You've been voted most popular female anime character in Japan 3 years running.  What do you attribute this fame to?
REI:   Definitely the success of EVA, but also to the talent of my agent, Jill.

RS:  Fans want to know... is your hair really blue, or is it.. y'know.. a dye job?
REI:  No, it's naturally blue.  I get this question alot, and it bugs me.   But I do recall a certain "redhead" who went through alot of Nice'n'Easy...

RS:  Asuka's not a natural redhead?
REI:  Asuka's not a natural anything! (laughs)

RS:  (laughs)

REI:  Oh, sorry...hehe

RS:  What's your favourite cheese Rei?
REI:  Hmmm... I'd have to say Brie.

RS:  Cool. Well, thanks for having us.  Stop on by next time you're in Canada!
REI:  Sure thing... um...

RS: What?
REI:  Did you just pocket some of my silverware?

RS:  My God!  What's that man doing to your dog!?
REI:  What?

RS: (runs)
REI:  Comeback you LOWLIFE!!!

So you can see it was a great interview, and we hoped you liked it.  BTW I got 480 bucks and a can of Pringles from some fanboy at an anime con for the place setting!  Some people will do ANYTHING for some memorabilia...
