Here's a Site With A Great Display of 12" Star Wars Figures I Too Collect
TMC Universe: They Have Nice Pics, But I Would NOT Recommend Ordering From Them!
One of my passions are 12" figures. On a scale this large, a more exact likeness can occur whether it's a firearm or person's face. I especially like the Star Wars 12" line, but am trying to obtain the GI Joe Hall Of Fame series too. In most cases, I find they have quite a likeness to the actual stars that the figures are based on. The Planet Of The Apes series turned out just as well, see the picture below. Did you pick up the Masters Of The Universe re-releases? I sure as heck did.
Please only serious inquires on these items for sale and trade: don't waste my time!
Devil Fish. Copyrighted 1986. Missing 4 missiles, a machine gun-cannon at top, two torpedos that go beneath the boat, and one peg is broken in which one of the 4 missiles would attach. Easy to fix, and perfect to use as a better piece against another set of just scraps. Oherwise, this boat is in great shape and the engine covers are intact and can be removed. Among all the toys listed this is one I would most want to part with as I have another. I will be updating this picture, I now have the machine gun and one missile and both torpedos.
L.A.W. Copyrighted 1986. The computer terminal adjacent to the L.A.W. was never part of the original accessory, but is included. Nothing broken here...I will have to double check to see what else would normally have come with this set if bought new...
F.L.A.K. Copyrighted 1982. The seat piece has been "super" glued well and is firmly attached to the gun. One of the legs is considered broken as a slot in which a soft peg would normally fit is broken. Rotates fine. If anyone has a spare part of the piece that's broken on mine, I would be interested in keeping this toy.
Mortar Defence Unit. Copyrighted 1983. End of the barrel was broken off but has been "super" glued and is hardly noticeable. This set came with a binocular piece with tripod. I have the big binocular piece, but not the tripod.
Snow Cat.Copyrighted 1985. I'm still debating if I want to keep this sucker. It Has some scratches on the windshield from play and storage. All in all, a mostly complete set. The only thing wrong with this piece is a broken clasp on one side of the missile launcher. It still swivels and rotates nicely and missiles stay in place. Has all its parts and is great condition.
Slugger. Copyrighted 1984. This tank is in excellent shape. The only piece missing I am aware of that normally came with this vehicle is a machine gun turret in which I no longer have and took the liberty to replace with a G.I. Joe flag from another incomplete accessory set.
Transportable Tactical Battle Platform. Copyrighted 1985. Needs cleaning. Areas where the Missiles Launch and Machine Gun reside need to glued if you want it to stay permanently for play. The command area needs to be glued down too for the same reason. Otherwise, it's stable for display purposes. The bridge works but one slot where a peg goes is broke. Some pieces I had left over from the Hovercraft are included like the motorcycle and depth charge. There are boxes too, made of plastic, but not originally part of this set, nor of G.I. Joe. (I believe they're made from Tonka, but I do not know from what playset.) I don't have any of the rifles normally included, but I do have the gun rack and it may be seen in photo...
Bridge Layer. Copyrighted 1984. This toy is in great shape, the only missing part is the vital other half of the bridge. If one has some scrap parts from the same toy, perhaps one could use it here. No other parts missing. Great condition. Again, if anyone is selling the top portion of the B.L. I would be interested in keeping mine. Otherwise feel free to make an offer...
FYI.
I am refurbishing some of my 3 3/4 G.I. Joe’s figures. I do not collect the 12" scale ones, unless they're Hall Of Fame Joes and if the price is right. I have all the 12" Hall Of Fame figures except Road Block, Ace, and Gung Ho.
I am also trying to collect the figures I lack and found YoJoe.com a great resource.
I don't do trades of figure for figure since I do not wish to part with what I have, nor do I have any doubles.
So besides trading VHS videos of anime (and otherwise) or CDRs of music/games for the figures, I'll only buy cheap. Real Cheap. I mean, sure G.I Joe is great and all, but let's face it, the figures made nowadays are so much better. What made G.I. Joe great was the poseability and the inventive accessories and vehicles, which, on the other hand, I must say are not made as well today. I maintain a figure or anything else is only worth what you can sell it for, not what a magazine says it's worth. I mean, how many people can honestly sell their used cars for what the Kelly Blue Book says?
Two places I have found to purchase cheap Joes are:
Brian's Full Force
Jeff's Joes
The new Y2k and 2001 Joes are out. Did you purchase them?
My figures are in pretty good condition considering I have played with them all. I collect loose GI Joe 3 3/4 figures since
all mine are loose and I don't see much value in them besides sentimental. I'm NOT collecting any accessories: like: an Air Craft Carrier, Rattler, Hovercraft (my mother destroyed mine out of anger, sob!), etc. unless I find them new in the stores. I hardly have space for the new stuff anyway. I absolutely do not want any figures with broken thumbs, or MAJOR paint scuff or wear. Note: in regards to not wanting broken thumbs--I may change my mind once I test some figures out with model cement. If this works as well--or similar to how I repair the crotches of my Joes I might take back this aforementioned passage. I don’t mind figures with some minor need for paint touch-up, like black boots, hair or gloves. You'd be surprised at how well model paint works on Joes. I don't mind figures that are not equipped with weapons. And figures with broken rubber bands are ACCEPTABLE. I will also accept figures, now, with a broken crotch, as I found a way to repair that myself; I want good figures, but I'm not expecting mint figures.
Here's the list of figures I lack:
(it's a long list)
I collect Joe comics and books. Contact me if you are selling or trading, maybe we can make a deal.
I have some Joe comics and Nth man for trade.
Contact me, if interested.I promise I'll have a list up!...
