9/09/98 Yeaaaah! Shamrock kicked Owen Fart's ass at Summerslam
(tearing his GROIN muscle in the process) in the first ever Lion's Den
match and he wore BLUE (blue, blue, blue, blue, blue, blue, blue...) which
means I'm gonna have to change all the sodding colours on this page and get
some decent pictures of him in BLLUUUUUEEEE! [groan]
KEN SHAMROCK IS THE 1998 !!!!!
Can you believe it!!?? I can't and I witnessed it first hand!! (Well sorta I stayed up until 3 a.m. to watch it)
But never mind all that he is KING OF THE RING and destined for the BIG TIME (as he has been for a long time) and hopefully he'll be able to keep in temper in check (not very probable though, sadly).
Shamrock's road to King Of The Ring was a tough one, the qualifying match for King of The Ring was Shamrock's first match after having his ankle shattered by Owen Hart was against The Godfather of The Nation, Kama Mustafa and of course Kama is a sadistic bastard and went for Shamrock's ankle which is still not at 100%, re-injuring the ankle. In the next King Of The Ring match it was Shamrock Vs Mark Henry and with a small helping hand from Vader Shamrock got the pin after the belly-to-belly suplex. Fast forward to King Of The Ring 28th June 1998, the semi-finals: Shamrock Vs Double-J. Both Double-J and his lanky promoter Tenessee Lee got their digs at Shamrock's injured ankle but of course Double-J succumbed to the Ankle-lock submission and Tenessee to the belly-to-belly suplex. On to the final: Shamrock Vs The Rock. We all know the history between Shamrock and The Rock so one hell of a match was expected and thats what we got one HELLUVA match. Basically they beat the living daylights outta each other, neither man would quit. Especially Shamrock, he fought on after a spinning neck breaker and two DDTs where most men would have just given up after one of these moves. Jim Ross was perfectly correct when he said that Rocky would have had to knock Shamrock out to win. And there was no quit in Shamrock, we all kmow how tough he is. As The Rock hovered above Shamrock, Shamrock grabbed his oppents leg, taking him down into the Ankle-lock submission to score the win and the . WWF executives will be trying to make Shamrock a big time hit, who knows he might be the one to de-throne Stone Cold Steve Austin as he certainly isn't frightened of the Texas Rattlesnake and he has the potential but will his lack of control is a big disadvantage. If Shamrock could only SEMI-control his temper we could be looking at the next WWF Champion. And I hope to God we are.
Owen Hart is still bugging shamrock and at Fully Loaded(26/07/98) smashed
the "Dumbel with a dumbel" (quote from Jerry Lawler) during the Dungeon match.
