Date: 1st September 1997: 1st Day of Spring
Time:12:00pm
I had a horrible night. Couldn't get to sleep till 3:30 am (whats new!), my mind was in overdrive. Finally when I got to sleep from sheer exhaustion, my hubby's alarm went off at 6:45am. He remained asleep, but I was up and awake..I just layed in bed thinking, thinking, thinking.....
I was really sorry to hear about Princess Diana. I'm not really a Royalist, although my Grandma (Dad's late mum) was. I took a passing interest in the Royal Family myself, but still I'm upset about the tragic loss of Diana. It seems like this tragedy can be likened to the death of Marilyn Munroe and Princess Kelly (Grace Kelly) of Monaco. All were such beautiful flowers, admired and loved by all.
What I think is even more tragic, is that in the next few months, we will be hearing all about Princess Diana, from her pyschic, her beautician, her acupuncturist, her gym instructor...etc...etc..We will have to suffer with their renditions of everything ad nauseum. Her death has unfortunately already been used as a public relations (pr) stint for President Clinton, Prime Minister John Howard etc.etc. I am sure they all have genuine grief, and they owe it to their people to express heartfelt sympathy, but lets not hope its continued to be done till its overkill (pardon the expression). I really feel sorry for her children. It's a real tragedy for them.
Yesterday I went to a nursery, to pick up food for my roses..My parents picked me up and took me. We had Devonshire tea, there, and when we were being served, the manager (who was very cute! But why are all the gay guys so cute! Its not fair! - My sister's favourite saying) told us about Diana. We had already heard, so I asked him "is it normal for you to tell your customers bad news when you serve them?" He understood I meant it as a joke, so he didn't get offended. When we got home we watched the telecast, and saw the car or what was left of it! It looked like a piano accordian. How sad!
On a Happier note now, my friends birthday is tomorrow. So I wish her a Happy Happy Birthday and many happy returns...
Before I go, I will tell you that my cat is overdue, so it could be anyday now she gives birth. I'll keep you posted.
My friend in Hawaii rang last night to tell me that he'd forgotten his email password and that's why he hadn't recieved my email. Cute ha! His wife is coming to Australia, so i will be having her over for a visit. Can't wait!
My friend in Malaysia just got Engaged to a nice girl, so I wish them congratulations and the
best for the future. I think they will be getting married on Chinese New Year '98. I will try to save
up so I can go for the wedding (he's my hubby's best friend), but if not I will just send
Ungpow.
Bye for now.....

P.s. After tomorrow I will be taking down the photos of Tianamen Square, as they are taking up too
much space...So if you want a peek, do so now....!
