One Enchanted Evening...

Bonsoir to you all! I have had a delightful day. First I begin with the news update...then I shall divuldge all (well almost all!). Hubby received 50/50 ( a whopping 100%) for his assignment. So congratulations mon coeur ! Keep up the good work :). The next good news is that my grandmother is home from hospital/rehabilitation following her knee replacement. I wish her all the best with her continuing recovery and I'm happy she is back in her home .

So what other things did I do? Well, I watched 4 uninspiring episodes of Star Trek (2 Deep Space 9 and 2 Voyager). I have come to the realisation that I don't enjoy Klingon Opera (hehehe)!

Today (Sunday 26th Oct) I went to the Opera with my friend (her friend was in the chorus - we met him prior to the performance). Albeit a Matinee performance at the Malthouse in Albert Park, but thouroughly enjoyable . In English, the Opera is called "The Children Under The Magic Spell" (it was performed in its original language, French). The costumes were delightfully colourful, the music was excellently performed and the cast acted their parts professionally (I'm not sure if this is the right way to describe it...oh well), enthusiastically and entertainingly (hmm... I think I'm puting my foot in it). To think that I nearly missed it!!!

Daylight savings began, although I did not realise this until 12:15pm this morning (which I thought to be 11:15am) when my friend rang (thank the heavens!!!) to remind me that I need to put my clocks foward 1 hour, and that I'd (who was having a leisurly morning) better get a move on if I wanted to make it in time to the performance. Luckily, I got a park (slang for - car parking space) right outside the Malthouse .

Afterwards, I took my friend home and treated her with a Hopi Indian Candle, as her ear was paining her (she has a viral infection, and is quite unwell). She has been having a terrible 'Health year', with numerous colds, appendicities only one month ago etc etc.. Perhaps she could do with a course of Echinacae (boost immunity). I have treated her with acupuncture recently, she's a sceptic - 'Hocus Pocus' she calls it :), but she has seen the benefits, (even though it goes against every grain in her to say it) so I am pleased I could help her.

Actually, at the Malthouse during intermission, a women pushed infront of me at the bar (I was buying Mineral water and a Cola), and coughed all over my hair (Groan, moan,,,uch!), she was spluttering away, without regard for the microtonnes of germs she was releasing into the atmosphere. Despite her pushing infront of me and demanding to be served first, I was actually glad she left. At least my friend has manners not to sneeze and cough over everyone! My sister and her family are sick too...they have laryngitis, my mother has something too... I think I will just have to give myself some 'Hocus Pocus' (hehehe) in the attempt to ward off any prospective, oppertunistic germs.

It has been in Melbourne, the last 3 days have been over 30*Celsius (approx 90-92*F). We're having an early onset of summer weather (El Nino methinks). Hubby (who had Friday off from work) put on a load of washing, but had left the sink/basin full, so the water overflowed all over the house :(. As a result we had a HUGE load of towels to wash. So the weather came in handy :).

Tonight, I watched a romantic movie called 'Only You' with Robert Downey Jnr. and Marissa Tomey. *Sigh* - it was lovely. I am a hopeless romantic. My husband, who is Vulcan (*giggle*), does not appreciate these 'mushy' movies, so luckily for him, he was working and was not made to suffer. It was a sweet movie, about Fate and Destiny and finding one's soul mate. I believe in these forces very strongly and I wonder oft, how many share the same feelings as I. I am drifting off into dreamworld now...indulge me..
All answers are written in the stars....if we could but read them with accuracy!

I have just been interrupted by my next door neighbour, who called on the telephone to complain that my cat (on call) is keeping her awake. I told her I'd give my cat a valium - she answered "Well it's either your cat or me." (insert belly laugh now!) Okay! Okay...I know that my cat brings all the toms from a 1km radius and they serenade her...but that's got to stop if I want to keep peace with my neighbours..No valium needed...luckily otherwise we'd have dopey kittens in the morning as they are still suckling.

I'd better finish off here...

Ciao till next time...

Soosh....
How about some Nat King Cole, to finish off with.
This one's for all the romantics out there, like me :).
"To the end of the world...."
