Michael
Logan, Sir Lumberman - [B.Sc.(Eng.)
(Queen's) 2000] Year I Master of Urban
Planning at Dalhousie University in Halifax,
Nova Scotia. Mike worked last year for W.F.
Baird & Associates Coastal Engineers, Oakville, Ontario,
so he was actually around. Mike has been a member of
the 81st for a real long time, is a Chief Scout and Queen's
Venturer, holds the Gold Level Duke
of Edinburgh's Award and was awarded the Scouts
Canada Trust Scholarship in 1999. Formerly, Mike was Assistant
Regional Commissioner (Youth) for Hamilton
Wentworth, sitting on Regional Council and the Provincial Executive Board.
He founded The Queen's
Rovers in Kingston District, and is also a member of the 3rd Armdale Crew in
Halifax. Unfortunately, Lumberman's popsicle
stick bridge that he entered in the Victoria
Day competition this year lost to Kyle Miles'. After the competition,
Kyle claimed "This proves that thinking is useless!"
Along with Sir Bortz, Mike attended the 11th World Scout Moot in Mexico in July 2000, and was camp chief for Snow Moot 2001. Currently, he's acting as moral support for those going to the Australian Moot and working on Snow Moot 2002.
Why we call him "Lumberman"
I don't really know how this one came about, since I wasn't around. I was up north in Bala, ON working at a lumber yard. When I got home, I had inherited the nickname.
