Standing on the Ceiling
What happens when the world turns upside down and you suddenly realize you’re standing on the ceiling? Do you fall or do you learn to fly? If given a choice between the impossible and the unthinkable how does one choose which way to die? You die in body or you die in soul. In the end those become the only choices you have left. Nothing changes when everything around you flows so fluidly that you can’t grasp it to turn it right again. You reach a point where you must chose between death and worse. All alone you must know what is really important to you, because that is all that can hold you to the choices you didn’t make. You stay, caught between two planes of existence, because you still haven’t learned to let go, and that which keeps you here is that which threatens to send you off again. Desperation drives you to hope. Hope drives you to despair, and despair drives you to desperation. It can never end until time moves backward and you can see where it has not yet gone. So you cling to that ceiling in the hopes that you might find a way to turn the world right side up again, only you realize that it was never upside down, and that all that was different was the way you saw things. Trying to change your eyes to see the way you once did you know that it’s too late to do anything but learn to fly, or fall… but that either way you will lose. There is no way to win when all the choices require giving up something that can keep you sane. The one things that can turn the world right, teach you to fly and take it all away all at the same time… there is no choice that allows for keeping that safety net. Once the world has taken you away you can never find your way back and you will lose it all. And now you know that you are gone.
