The Only Truth
The only truth you have known, believed since you could believe anything, is that a person is given only one chance at love. Once chance at a love so wonderful it drowns out everything else, a love so strong it has the force to stop the sun, a love so perfect it can’t be held, you can only feel it as it consumes you and holds your soul for the rest of eternity. The only truth you have known is that love is the only thing worth fighting for, and that you must, no matter what the cost. Without it you are nothing and you disappear into the obscurity of lost dreams and forgotten pasts. You need that love to prove that you are alive, because you know that it is the only thing that you can truly feel, and without feeling you are no better than dead. The only truth you have known is that you chase a dream that everyone has felt once in their lives, but no one holds onto, because no one understands that it is the only true dream. You live a life of stagnant mediocrity without the hope of finding what it is you seek in your dreams. For even when you do find what you seek it is as illusive as the wind, ever present but never solid, never obtainable, always drifting in and out of your reach, playing with your hopes and fears until you don’t know how to breathe for fear of scattering it to the stars in your eyes. The only truth you have known is that love is a dream that you might never find because there is no belief in love of the kind you know you feel. Your mind races, running so fast in front of you that it has finally caught up behind you and you can feel what you couldn’t understand before. The only truth you have known is that love is the only truth worth knowing.
