We want to express our deepest sorry in the passing of Lloyd Grissom - long time member
of the Mitchell Horseshoe League. Lloyd passed away on Sunday, 9/31/01 with visitation
at Haverly Mortuary in Mitchell, tonight (Tuesday evening 10/2 from 4PM - 8PM) and the
funeral will be Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 1PM.

Lloyd really loved to pitch horseshoes, I remember a couple years ago, he just had kidney
surgery earlier in the week and was pitching in the leagues the same week!

BUSS KINCAID, A life time member of the AHPA past away Saturday June 16th around 4 p.m.
Visitation will be Monday June 17th between 4 and 8 p.m. at the Whitaker Funeral Home
in Gosport. IN. Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. Buss was a member of the 100 point
club and the AHPA Hall Of Fame. Buss a long time supporter of horseshoe will be missed at
the Paragon tournaments encouraging pitchers, keeping score and promoting the sport he loved.

FLORENCE K. ANDREWS HUFFMAN, 80, Indianapolis, died June 3. She was a member of the American
Horseshoe Pitching Association and the AHPA Hall of Fame. Memorial contributions
may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. Graveside
services were held June 6 in Concordia Cemetery.

Long time AHPA member and Bloomington League member, Kenny White died Saturday, according
to the paper, at the age of 62. Services will be Wednesday June 6. with calling hours 2-8
Tuesday night June 5, at the Allen Funeral Home in Bloomington. His wife found him in a
chair in his back yard, where he had been mowing his yard.

The first two tournaments in Indiana are over. We have a slight increase over last
years turn out. New and returning (didn't pitch in 2000) pitchers represented 11% in
total entries.
January 20,
Richard Dellinger a past member of both Sheridan leagues, passed away Friday. He quit
pitching about two years ago because of health problems. The calling will be at Kercheval
Funeral Home in Sheridan 4 to 8 pm Monday 1/22/2001. Services will be held Tuesday.
January 15,
There will be a meeting of all league officers, committee chaipersons and all
Indiana State Officers, Sunday, Feb. 4, 1:30 p.m. at Martinsville. The annual AHPA
Board of Directors meeting held during February is to be scheduled. Letters will be
coming from Ramona. If you know of any current leagues or leagues that maybe forming,
that do not belong to the AHPA please invite them.
PURPOSE OF MEETING = GROWTH.
January 5,
Alvin Corbin's son Leonard passed away Wednesday night. He had pancreatic cancer.
Visitation is 3 - 8 Friday night and funeral at 2pm Saturday at Jenkins Funeral Home
in Bloomfield; burial will be in Solsberry.

State Membership fees will be $10.00 in 2001 gradually increasing to $12.00 in 2003
