Thought of the day:
If you're lost, you can look and you will find me,
Time after time.
If you fall I will catch you, I'll be waiting,
Time after time.
-Cindy Lauper
Let's go back in time to Saturday Senses:
[taste]:: If you could no longer taste any liquids/drinks, which liquid/drink would you miss and which would you be happy not to taste anymore?
I would miss tasting coffee with cream, grape juice, and tea the most. I think I would even miss the taste of fresh cold milk. However, I wouldn't miss the taste of beer, sour milk, or flat soda (except flat gingerale when I'm sick...Wegmans' brand flat gingerale is the best thing when you have an upset stomach! So I'll add that to the "miss most list")
[touch]:: If you could no longer feel physical pain, which kind of pain would you be happy to never feel again (I know all sorts of pain are bad, but choose one that is specifically the worst for you).
I would choose to lose headache pain. Not only do I hate the throbbing pain, but it also affects my mood, my concentration, and my judgment.
[sight]:: If you could no longer read, which part of your life would be most affected? Additionally, look around you and try o immagine how many things you wouldn´t be able to do in the room you´re in if that ever happened.
My whole life would be affected if I couldn't read. Not only would I miss reading magazines and novels, but I wouldn't be able to read informational books and articles, I wouldn't be able to research, which I love doing, I wouldn't be able to read letters and e-mails from friends and relatives, I wouldn't be able to read help wanted ads, or fill out an application. What kind of job would I get without being able to read? I wouldn't be able to read signs or directions either. OMG! I can't imagine a life without reading. In this room alone, I wouldn't be able to use the computer or read any of the books in here.
This got me thinking about the old Twilight Zone episode where the man finds himself all alone in the world and stumbles across the remains of a library. He's totally ecstatic until he realizes he's broken his glasses and the irony is he can't read a thing without them. Can you imagine?
[smell]:: Which food´s smell is so much "part of the food" that you´d miss smelling if you could no longer smell anything you eat?
I would have to say fruits and vegetables. Each one has its own unique fragrance once it's cut, and if it didn't, we might be eating grass or tree leaves. Imagine eating an orange without being able to smell it.
[hearing]:: If you could no longer hear people´s voices, whose voice would you be glad not to hear and whose voice would you miss hearing?
I would gladly go without hearing my ex-husband's voice again, unless he was saying, "I'm sorry...here's all the money I owe you..." I would miss my family's voices most of all.
I have missed some birthday greetings in my journal. I've just recently skipped two of my niece's birthdays. Terri's birthday was last week and Jenna's birthday was the week before. Today is my nephew, David's birthday. Happy birthday, all!

Moving into back to the present: Kenzie and Ashley are doing great, and Kevin has already received a raise at work. Congratulations, Kevin! I saw Kenzie last Friday, and she's already grasping the concept of standing on her own...(sort of..until she topples over...). We think she'll be walking before she crawls. John and I are still job searching. We're frustrated that we've invested so much time and effort with no concrete results yet. Keep positive thoughts...keep positive thoughts...keep positive thoughts... Barb started a temp job on Monday, though. Congratulations, Barb!
Now, back to the future: John and I both have interviews tomorrow, and John has another interview Monday. He's still in contact with one company that he interviewed for a couple of weeks ago. Please keep positive thoughts that at least one of these is the right opportunity and at least one of us is the right candidate for the job. Thank you so much to everyone that have given me leads, and everyone that have been so supportive. You're the best!!!
Thanks for reading!
