Thought of the Day:
"It's better to be prepared for an opportunity and not have
one than to have an opportunity and not be prepared."
-- Whitney Young

Happy Birthday greetings to Nick!
Sunday Brunch
Now that the holidays are over...
1. Which part of the holiday season are you most happy to see over?
Crowds...Crowded stores, crowded malls, crowded parking lots. (Can you tell I don't like crowds?)
2. What is the biggest/best present or surprise you received during
the during the holidays?
All of my gifts were nice surprises. But, my nicest surprise wasn't a gift at all.
My sister-in-law had found some old recipes and recipe books of my grandmother's, so I brought them home to scan copies for Kim and I.
It was nice surprise having something more to warmly remember Grandma by.
3. How did you ring in the New Year?
We were planning on spending a relaxing evening at home in front of the TV, watching Dick Clark's Rocking New Year's Eve.
However, remember I how I mentioned we had noisy neighbors move in last month?
After putting up with a couple of miserable days of them, we changed our plans and decided to go out New Year's Eve.
This wasn't your typical "New Year's Eve going out" though.
We packed up sodas, cheese, crackers, and shrimp cocktail, and drove up to Ontario Lake and had a peaceful, relaxing, quiet New Year's Eve, having a "midnight picnic" in the car.
Survey: Has anyone ever had, or heard of anyone having a New Year's Eve midnight picnic before?
We got back home just in time for Kim to call.
Kim had gone to Times Square with her boyfriend to see the ball drop in person.
On her end of the line, you could hear thousands of people yelling, horns tooting, and music playing.
She had quite a different New Year's Eve experience than I did!
4. New Year's resolutions... do you make & break them, make them &
stick to your guns or don't even bother?
It's not really a "New Year's" resolution, but I have resolved to continue being the best person I can be, despite how evil, selfish, and greedy other people can be.
5. Has life returned to normal now that the holidays are over?
Normal? What's normal?
Thanks for reading!
