FOUR IN A ROW!

Harrisburg Senators

When minor league baseball returned to our area in 1987, it seemed new to some of us. After all, it had been 35 years since Harrisburg last had a AA club.
And it returned in grand style! The team captured the Eastern League title in its first season, as an affiliate for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
In 1991 the Senators signed on with the Montreal Expos, which has one of the best scouting crews in baseball. Since then, the "Lawmakers" have captured an additional five EL championships, including titles the past four consecutive seasons. Plus, in the first year of the Montreal affiliation, they went to the Finals, losing a heartbreaker to the (former) Albany/Colonie Yankees. If that isn't enough, we the fans have been treated to some of the best talent baseball has to offer this decade. Information about them will be available here soon!
This is not to say the Pirate-affiliated club didn't have its share of quality players. Two who come to mind as current major leaguers are Moises Alou (who got his World Series ring in 1998) and Rick Reed.
After an 18-month layoff from updates, this section will be getting a facelift. Bear with me. It won't be fast, but it will be done, eventually.
