Pirouetting On A Cloud ©

You travel upon the wings

Of a cloud within my mind

Pirouetting beyond the leaves

Of the Oak elusive of time.

Resting upon the billowiness

Controlling the warmth at will

Of the sun as you drift

Bringing a coolness still.

The graceful doves soar

Ever dancing with time,

While your presence haunts

The caverns of my mind.

In the heart lies yearning

Ladened with much unrest

That I could reach for you

And clutch you to my breast.

Yet, you float out of reach

Toying with my affections

With an all knowing glance

At my inner reflections.

I sing to you a song

Feeling the dewy down

Damp against my skin

kneeling upon the ground.

A sonnet of tender love

Filled with burning desire

To embrace an elusive heart

And plant seeds of fire.

Although you are so perched

Near the heavens of blue,

Beware of prevailing gusts

Sweeping the heart of you.

Moments ©

A moment at dawn

and the gentle whisper of

The promise of a heart

in the expression of love.

A moment at dusk

as we sat together there

Watching thru the window

a sleeping flower fair.

A moment in Spring,

a slow walk in the park,

Talking of nature

and confessions of the heart.

A moment of silence

as we sat upon the bed

Holding each other close

while the salty tears are shed.

A moment of laughter

in the sheer joy we share

As we so relish

in a love beyond compare.

A moment in love

with the tenderness of touch.

Our lips seek to meet

as the eyes speak of much.

A moment of honesty

to bare the soul of truth.

So very beautiful

are the moments of me and you.

Now that the minds are embittered

and with loneliness we are saddled

The hidden truths

And love denied

Games were played

While hearts died.

The souls beaten

And spirits broken

Was it worth the loss

And ego's prized token?

Bereft were we of all logic and reason

As we lost each other in the battle.
