history, mission, goals
Anima Anime!
started with four people who participated in the
Collecticon Conventions in Megamall last 1999. Due to
insistent public clamor and requests from friends, they
decided to open up a shop in Binondo. This also led to
the first Anime Film Showing at the Oracafe last July 16,
1999 which eventually became known as The ANIME REVUE.
After jumping from one shop to another, (Binondo-
Mandaluyong- Recto- Robinson's Galleria), they have
finally settled at the Katipunan area (FBR Arcade, inside
ROENCARNACION Computers). Anima Anime! primarily organizes anime related events such as film showings, campus tours, fairs, conventions, and movie premieres. Anima Anime!'s business side centers on original japanese anime merchandise (custom orders), vhs tapes, cd audios, DVDs, mangas, artbooks, etc. As the group continues to pioneer in anime related activities Anima Anime's flexibility recognizes the need to fortify its structure to keep servicing the needs of the fans. The goal of ANIMA ANIME! is to unite all the fans and have a common mission to make good and unadulterated anime accessible to everybody at the most affordable level. We would like to encourage everyone to form their own groups, overcome differences and organize their own film showings and gatherings. This was how fans in the US started back in the late seventies. Let's drop the bickering and act towards making our fan base more mature for our own benefit. Anima Anime! is thankful for the efforts of many other groups who have gone out of their way to organize their own events (even as far away as Davao!). This is ultimately what we have hoped for when we started. Thank you to our sponsors who believed in us. We believe that without them, conventions and fairs that have been recently concluded, whatever the feedback, would not be all possible. Today, Anima Anime! is not anymore the four people. It is everybody and anybody who particpated in events and have volunteered to give their efforts to promote and organize for the greater good. Arigato mina-san! Arigato Anima Anime! (We have decided not to edit the original text. Thank you everybody for all your support over the years 1999-2002.) |
