Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands and has two airports, one on the north side (Tenerife North, TFN, also known as "Aeropuerto de Los Rodeos") and the other one is on the south of the Island (Tenerife Sur, TFS, also known as "Aeropuerto Reina Sofia").
Costa Adeje Also known as The Golf Coast approximately twenty-minutes from Reina Sofia airport. This is a beautiful resort on the southern coastline of Tenerife and is ideal for family holidays. Golfing facilities here have made this town a top destination with golfers too (hence the nickname). Other resorts such as Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas are within walking distance. Most hotels in this area provide a free local bus service. If your unsure of your destination ask the driver they are only to please to help.Playa Torvisca is a volcanic sandy beach. Water sports; such as paragliding and Jet Ski’s are available here for a reasonable price. If you’re going here; go early. This is a popular place and gets crowded. You can hire sun beds for approximately 1000 pesetas. |

Playa de las Americas A five minute bus ride or a half-hour walk. From Costa Adeje. This beach is stony and it’s recommended to keep your sandals on especially young children. Don’t fancy sun bathing then can check out the park or arcades. On Thursdays and Saturdays along the promenade you can find the Market well worth a visit; some real bargins can be got here. If you like clubs and bars then Playa De Las Americas is the town for you. The place is buzzing from 8:00pm onwards with happy hour in almost every bar throughout the week Families can enjoy the nightlife in one of the many cafe/bars quite easily as most places welcome children too. |

Although some of the Well-known UK Clubs are establishing themselves here; Tenerife is not yet a raver’s paradise; most clubbers responded negatively when questioned about the dance scene. Dave from Manchester said ‘Disco is alive and kicking if you’re into that sort of thing‘.

Los Cristianos about an hours walk from Costa Adeje or a ten minute bus ride. There are two good sandy beaches in this area that are recommended for families. While your here; visit the harbour you’ll find many boat trips on offer. Originally an old fishing village; transformed into a Busy Town Centre that is closed to traffic. The walk ways are clean and cheerful with many open-air restaurants and bars to choose from. Hailed as the No1 shopping centre there are a many shops that cater for everyone. Every Sunday the Market opens from 10:00am until 3:00pm; Situated in front of the Gran Arona; offering everything at bargin prices. (A must for any souvenir hunter)
