Ballad of John The Bully I'll tell you a story of the bully John Who beat on his wife right in front of his sons To him they were perfect and if you said no You could be sure that old John would give you a blow. His wife Jane did her darnedest to raise the boys right But each time she did he was ready to fight He pounded her senseless and broke bones and soon She'd come to in the Emergency Room. His oldest son Joe was sent to the Pen For beating and killing his latest girl friend His youngest son Jake met a similar fate When he beat his girl friend to a comatose state. John's wife Jane left him as quiet as a mouse John returned home to a cold lonely house Now John's still real hateful and facing the chair And Jane who divorced him has a new life somewhere. So listen real closely before it's to late Get rid of the bully be sure not to wait Life is too short to waste on a bully it's true I am sure there's a better life waiting for you. Hospitals are a real bore They suck out your blood and much, much more But you feel great When you make your escape Cause they irritate you to the core. Going Home When I get out of here They'll not see me again no more I'm going to raise my voice in song And sing the whole day long Snugly in my own room With family all arond And all my friends that live nearby And laughter all around. Going Home, going home, Happy as can be Pretty soon I'm going home And there I will be free. Copyright 2001 Ann Lasser |
