Dawn Arliss's Quilt Pages
Quilting is a very special term of endearment. I began quilting at the age of sixteen. It has been such a special part of my life. I have had to give up hand quilting because of my hands. They will not let me do the quilting I so enjoy but my sewing machine permits me to continue this wonderful hobby.
My first quilts were baby quilts. I made them from outting and the backing was outting. They were so cuddly and very warm. Then I started quilting tops that my Grandmother had pieced. They are treasures now as she has passed on.
I have made baby quilts for my children, my grandchildren and my great grandchildren, quilts for my grandchildren when they graduate high school, and quilts for Christmas presents.
I quilt for the pleasure. I love to give a gift that someone enjoys and appreciates. It is a true thrill. I take pride in the quilts I make because they are pretty and they are working quilts. They are for keeping you warm and using. I have made wall quilts and I have found that they are fun to make also.
I will add more soon.
She pieced the tops by hand and I quilted these quilt tops on my longarm quilting machine. I will add more soon.
