Apple Strudel
Ingredients:

1 package Strudel Pastry Dough
12 medium Granny Smith Apples (peeled, cored & sliced)
1 cup Butter (melted)
1 cup Fine Bread Crumbs
1 cup Chopped Walnuts
1 cup Sugar
2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
½ cup Icing Sugar

If you are allergic to nuts, you could use cookie crumbs instead of the walnuts.  You can mix in some poppyseed. Instead of apple try cherries, peaches or plums.
Preparation:

Preheat the oven to 325 F.

Place a sheet of strudel dough on a damp tea towel and brush it evenly with melted butter. Sprinkle it with a thin layer of bread crumbs and cover it with a second sheet of dough. Brush it with butter and sprinkle it with another thin layer of bread crumbs.

Toss together the apples, walnuts,  sugar, cinnamon and remaining bread crumbs. Spread  half the apple mixture on a the  center of the dough, leaving a little space on each side.

Roll the strudel with the help of the towel, staring at the long side nearest you. Tuck in the edges of the dough and place the  strudel on a buttered baking sheet.  Brush generously with butter.  Repeat with remaining strudel dough.

Bake the strudels in a preheated oven for about 30 minutes. Dust the strudels with sifted icing sugar and serve it warm or cold.
