Miss Saigon

The idea for Miss Saigon came about when the creators, Alain Boubil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, saw a picture of a young Vietnamese child being taken away from her mother so she could be reunited with her father in America. The mother looked as though she would rather die than leave her child but she knew it would be best for her to go to America. After the success of their first show, Les Misérables, Boubil and Schönberg began to work on Miss Saigon, which became another hit. It won 3 Tonys (not quite as successful as Les Miz but still awesome) in 1991 and has been playing on Broadway for nearly a decade.
