The History of Barrelhouse -- Dale, Kelvin, Jim, John & Steve started Barrelhouse December 2000 -- The original band featured guitar, bass, keys, drums and vocals -- Bill joined in soon afterwards making it a dual guitar band (2002) -- Stick, our original singer, added percussion to the band's sound -- Kelvin and Bill added their vocals on several tunes -- After tons of gigs, Martin replaced Steve on bass (2004) -- Stick moved on so we needed a new singer (2004) -- Joel arrived - said he had a van and could sing - we needed a van too -- Joel started singing with the band - but then his van died -- Sue arrived - she had a truck & could sing - we needed a truck (2005) -- Sue also had a cowbell and tamborine - we needed those too -- Martin opted out - Ronnie joined as the band's 3rd bass player (2006) -- Mike began adding congas and other percussion sounds at some gigs -- Joel didn't have his van any more, so he dug up his trumpet -- After seeing Joel's trumpet, Mike pulled his saxophone out of storage -- Sue opted to move on, Terry Q joined as lead female vocalist (2006) -- Wayne filled in on drums when Jim's moving day conflicts with a gig. -- Wayne suggested trying some double drummer gigs, so we did -- Terry O added his premier sax sounds to the mix -- Ronnie opted out after a long run as the band's 3rd bassist -- Bill Green adds Barrelhouse to his roster of bands to gig with(2006). -- Jim leaves the band to pursue other interests. (2007) -- Wayne learns more tunes -- Steve Geyer replaces Kelvin on the keyboards(2007) -- Wayne quits to spend more time with his family(Dec/2008) -- Dave Cronkite comes onboard as the new drummer(Jan/2009) |
