Through this journey, I've met some very amazing adults, and some even more incredible children. I've learned life lessons that I would never have come to learn in any other way. I've been given insight that I wish I could share with everyone I encounter. I feel almost evangelical in my approach to life sometimes, as I feel driven to share my journey in this world.

I feel incredibly blessed, and am astonished at the good fortune I've been given. I hope when my life is done, that the one thing that I will have accomplished is that I have made a difference in the life of a child, in the way people view people with Special Needs, in the heart of a friend of mine.

Our story began with the birth of our first daughter, Dakotah. Her birth was somewhat eventful, having had a pretty difficult labor and delivery. I felt my life blossoming then, as she arrived, and knew that I was changed forever.

Indeed, it was Dakotah's arrival that would lay the foundation for what was to come for our family. It was through parenting her, seeing her leap and bound through milestones, watching her become such an amazing person, that I was able to face the challenges that came with Paige's arrival.

And when Paige was born, I knew that our family circle was complete. That she would bring gifts to us as wonderful as those that Dakotah has brought.

I knew the moment I heard Paige's scream, saw her beautiful face, that I was witness to something very profound. Paige was born under a glorious full moon, and it was like the Heavens had opened up and shown on us, telling us, as plainly as if she had come with instructions, that our destiny lay before us.

And so far, its been an amazing destiny...
