The Barradas Fly-in last November 30 was once again
a complete success. There were 57 pilots in attendance and about
250 spectators and guest. This participation is unprecedented in
the history of the Barradas Fly-in. Pilots started arriving as early
as 6:00. And by 8:00 the registration booth could barely handle
the steady stream of pilots alread itching to try their planes out
in the inviting grass field that was mowed two days earlier by Manny
Barradas himself. As ussual, Manny Barradas was as inspiring as
ever in his welcoming remarks, encouraging all to come and visit
the Barradas RC facility. And he had all the reason to do so considering
that the RC facility now has a new covered pit area and airconditioned
pilot's lounge. At mid day, everyone was invited to a sumptous lunch
courtesy of the birthday boy Manny Barradas. Flying continued after
lunch and culminated in an awarding ceremony and raffle held at
4:00 PM. No one went home empty handed as there were enough prizes
for all pilots present.
The event wouldn't have been the success that it
was without the support of the following:
1. Manny Barradas - for the trophees and the execellent
lunch, and the grand prize - day trip for 4 to Borracay.
2. Victory World Hobby Shop - For the two boxes
of fuel that was raffled off, as well as the participation of their
club.
3. Werner Wilde - For the raffle items donated.
4. OBI Mapua - For the raffle items donated.
5. Louie Gamboa and Charlie Canoy- For donating
the engines we raffled as major prizes.
