Doug had to draw this with "paintbrush" and his mouse because I was having difficulty downloading his original diagram.
The bed is a flat plywood sheet. I slide it under the trailer during the day. It bolts to the fiberglass bench under the cushion through two holes I cut in the plywood. I reach in and put a wing nut on the bolt as I do not want it shifting at night. (I take off the regular compartment doors at night and put them in the compartments, and it is through these openings that I manage to tighten the wing nuts on the bolts.)
For travelling, we always travel
with the back bed in the bed position, and the plywood just lays on the
bed along with our luggage and pillows etc. I also wedge a piece
of pine between the cushions and counter on one side and the cupboard and
cushions on the other side and the piece of pine stops everything from
falling on the floor....
