The model represents what a ship like the "Neptune" that John Bush traveled in would have looked like. See below for some general information on the "Neptune" and the "Guift". If anyone has other information on these two ships that they would like to share, please let us know.

Edward Bennett was the likely owner of the "Gift of God" otherwise known as the "Gift" or "Guift". It is the ship that brought John's wife Elizabeth and their two daughter's to Virginia in 1619. The ship's first voyage to Virginia was in 1618. This ship brought over 200 emigrants to Virginia in the year 1618.

The "Neptune" left England in 1618 with 180 emigrants and arrived with 150, John Bush being one of the survivors. The ship left England in April of 1618 and arrived in Virginia (Elizabeth City) in August of 1618. Lord Delaware died on the voyage on June 7, 1618.
