I am a birth mother looking for her son. I have been looking for many many years to no avail. I believe that adoptees have the right to know their medical history and I would like to share mine with my son in case he needs it. I did not abandon my child, hope he is well and doesn't need my help, but if he does, I am available. I do need to get medical history to him.I have had medical information sent to the adoption agency(Family Services) over the years and they told me the family had moved out of the a ea. My son was blond with blue eyes, he weighted 5 lbs. 4 oz. He was born at 6:44 am.Great wake up call!! I have missed him every day of my life since that day.

I am the daughter of the adoptee Kenneth A. Talbert he was born in Kansas City, MO on August 16, 1937 and was adopted in November to the Talberts. He has been searching for 9 years now and hit a dead end when he found out his records were sealed we are s ill in the process of getting them unsealed...but that takes time. He had heart surgury 9 years ago and he basically wants to know what h alth problems run in his "real" family. - My birth mother applied to Contra Costa County for adoption services after being referred by her assistance worker. She said she was unable to care for a child and that her family who were caring for several of her children would not be able to care for another. She was married at the time, but she and her husband had been separated for several years and he was serving probation time for failure to support three of the children who were his biological children. She indicated further that she had always needed help in caring for her children as they made her nervous. My birth mother was born in Arkansas and had been living in California about 16 years. Her parents lived in Arkansas, but were unable to help. my mother was a 24 year old woman of African-American descent who had never been able to support herself. My birth father was 28 years old and they had been seeing each other off and on. He was employed as a construction worker. They had never made any plans for a more lasting relationship as she was still married. After he learned of her pregnancy, he failed to see her and eventually moved without telling her. Since my birth mother was legally married it was necessary for her husband, who was my legal father, to sign a relinquishment. He was then living in Southern California and he went into the appropriate office there and completed the necessary papers. My birth mother was described as a 5' 9 1/2" inches tall, woman who weighed about 165 pounds. She said her nerves bothered her. She was of the Protestant faith and her family for 2 generations had been born in the United States. She believed she was part Native American Indian, but did not know if this is true. She completed the 11th grade in school and took some evening courses in typing and machine calculation. She worked only about 2 months at two differnet jobs. She was described as passive, withdrawn, and very dependant personality. She talked quite matter of fact about her inability to raise her children expressed her love of me by saying that she wanted me to be with someone who would care for me and really wanted children, but couldn't. I was born May 31, 1966 at a hospital (Brookside) in San Pablo, California. The actual birth was at full term spontaneous, with no complications. I weighed 8 pds 2 ozs and was 21 inches long. My general condition was described as good. I was placed with my adoptive parents (John And Elvera De Luz) who were then foster parents. I was described as a pretty baby who had a healthy looking build. I had light brown curly hair, blue eyes and a light complexion. In January of 1967, My adoptive parents were approved to adopt me. My adoption was finalized on August 22, 1967. My birth father was an African American male who was about 28 years old. My birth mother knew nery little about him or his family. She believed he had been married and was then divorced. She thought that he had served in the Army. When my birth mother gave the information for my original birth certificate, she named my father (Smith) on the certificate, but indicated that he was 32 years old. My birth mother's family (Ford's) consisted of her mother and father and 4 siblings of whom she is the youngest. My maternal grandfather was 60 years old and was a construction worker. His education level was unknown. My maternal grandmother was 53 years old. She lived nearby and worked as a domestic. She completed the 12th grade in school. Both she and my father were born in Arkansas. My uncle and three aunts were all born in Arkansas too. My uncle 31 years of age completed high school and worked in construction. My aunt 29 graduated from high school and she was employed as a domestic. My aunt 28 was a junior college graduate and she too was employed as a domestic. My aunt, whose age was unknown completed the 11th grade. She was married and had 2 children and was a licensed foster parent who also cared for 3 foster children. All lived in a nearby city and were of support to mother. My 2 nephews and niece were adopted out when they were 5,4,2 through a closed adoption. They remembered their name and now we are in contact they are 19, 17, 16. Their adopted mother abused them then left when she told them she never felt like they were hers. They do have a wonderful father and we are now becoming one big family.

My son fathered a child (a boy) in 1981 when he was only 16. My son died 3 years later when he was 19. His son would be 19 now. I am in search of my birth parents and/or birth family members. My birth certificate states I was born on 12/03/64. Born in St.Paul, MN, Ramsey County. I just wanted to let you know I have been searching for my B-mom I hired a CI the whole shot and she declined direct contact but I have 9 siblings 2 full and they do not know about me and after all the money invested in this she won't tell my siblings I e ist or she has yet to even write. So I agree with your ten reasons to open them. How long do we have to pay for our b-parents "obvious mistake". I feel discriminated against and several constitutional issues seem to pop up in my opinion.

As a birth parent I have no rights to any thing and I can see why some adoptee feel like they where not love because they feel no one is searching for them and that is not the case because we have been searching since my son turn 18 years of age and he is now 21 and I am no closer then when I started four years ago.
