Biography

The infamous lo-fi punk band from mid-1990's Brantford, Loser Parade was known for their bickering, wildness, loud noise and feed-back driven guitar and bass noise during their live sets. Their noise is showcased perfectly in the last 2 minutes of their over 12 minute long song Dead Blood. This is by far as close as any band from Brantford in the early 1990's has ever come to noise rock.

Very little is known about the band other then a few tapes, posters, stickers and a few photos of the band members after Loser Parade. Their only album was recorded August 19th 1994 to August 25th 1994. It was released at a Second Wave in-store around October 1994. They recorded another song around January 1995, but nothing became of it during that time. The members had various side projects while the band was still functioning such as Gargoyle My Teeth and Jupitorz Kitchen - A Dim Light Inside. Vic Moya played with them in the early days of the band. Their last show was January 27th 1995 at Classic Studios, in Toronto.

There was a brief mention of Loser Parade in Humpin' In The Back Room 'Zine, Issue #1, January 1995. Two more references to the band name were found, one early 1996 in the Brantford Expositor, and another in Humpin' In The Back Room 'Zine, Issue #7, December 1996 regarding the Earthlings break up, "The Earthlings are not even close to being as volatile as Loser Parade, who were always, it seemed, going through a constant bickerfest."

The band used to practice at Mark's house at 261 Clarence Street in Brantford. Then moved to the Asian Spice Shop on Park Road North with Dirge and Furry Ongion late October 1994 until early March 1995. Around the end of February 1995 or early March 1995 the band could not make it together for practices and it just faded away along with Furry Ongion.

Mark was able to continue on with Dirge (Cartoon Khaki) By March 1995 he was the full time drummer, until he broke his ankle August 9th 1996 which stopped his drumming. Mark also played bass for Karl Fuss' in-store April 7th 1995. In 2005 Mark was playing bass with Vic Moya's new band Victory Manual. Greg Korczak was a guest drummer for a Cartoon Khaki show September 28th 1996.

There was a 2002 rumor that Loser Parade tried to reform with Mark, Jason and Vic Moya however those rumors proved false. Kevin Jasper was singing for another band called Democracy Crisis after Chico Tamilia (former vocalist of Drunk n' Anger) left the band. However their guitarist quit as of August 23rd 2003 and Kevin moved to London, Ontario and got married. On a side note Chico also gave Jasper his first beer. It's not known what Matt or Greg did musically afterwards.

Mark is living in Kitchener/Waterloo, working as a restaurant chef. Jason lives in Toronto, attempts at getting ahold of him have been unsuccessful. Greg lives in Brantford, married and now with a child. Matt lives in Paris, Ontario married with three children.
