CFC produced a solid all round performance today and stuffed Bayern Levurkenyan 18-1. each player popped up with a goal Anderson (1), Crinnion (3), Di Pietro (5), Armstong (5), Norton (2) and keeper Oliver played out for the last 5 minutes and grabbed 2 goals.
CFC started well as Di Pietro used his ballerina's feet and scored within around 20 seconds. CFC were soon 4 nil up when the opposition had the chance to score from the spot but the big lad failed to convert and hit it off the bar. After a couple of well worked team goals Castlegate were 9 nil up at half time and looked so comfortable it wasnt true. CFC cracked in another 6 goals with Anderson and Crinnion popping in a couple of corkers and it looked like the rare occasion of a clean sheet was on the cards until a freak goal eneded those dreams. Oliver managed to save the initial shot but somehow when it was pushed away the ball was spinning and managed to bounce into the net to the dis-belief of everyone. This prompted Oliver and Di Pietro to swap and Di Pietro saw out the game in goal. Within seconds Oliver was on the score sheet after a fine pass from Crinnion and soon scored again to grab a brace. The overly impressive Armstrong who the fans have name the great Pampero finished off the game with his fifth of the game.
All in all a welcome return from the player the fans love to hate Norton. His stint back in Newcastle for 2 weeks has started well as CFC push for promotion after climbing up to the dizzy heights of the table.
