Mary
The gospel of Saint Luke is a source of information on Mary. The Church has honored her throughout the centuries and have defined some of her priveleges as dogmas of faith, for example, her Immaculate Conception and her Assumption into Heaven. She is known under many titles and the faithful, throughout the ages, have had recourse to her as a powerful intercessor.

Mary is "Mother of God,"

and from her high state she understands the true value of a soul. She has intervened in history by her miraculas appearances in such places as Lourdes and Fatima.

When Jesus came into the world,
he found his delight in Mary. We would be wise to ask Mary to accompany us on our journey . She has our best interests at heart. Living and walking with Mary is an adventure that needs to be experienced. A loving glance, a Hail Mary, is all it takes to connect with our advocate. Many people pray the rosary daily in response to Our Lady's request, but others find developing an attitude of mindfulness more to their taste. The important thing is to walk with Mary and she will mother us all into wholeness and holiness.

Mary - the virgin mother of Jesus.

Her parents were Joachim and Anne and she was a native of Nazareth. She was the only child born free of original sin. She grew up in the Temple in Jerusalem and she was betrothed to Joseph.

Shortly after the betrothal to Joseph,
the Angel Gabriel appeared to her and said:
“Hail, O favored one, the Lord is with you!” But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and considered in her mind, what sort of greeting this might be. And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus.
He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High;
And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David,
and he will reign over the house of Jacob for ever;
and of his kingdom there will be no end.”
And Mary said to the Angel, “How shall this be, since I have no husband?”
And the angel said to her,
“The Holy Spirit will come upon you
and the power of the Most High will overshadow you;
therefore the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God.”….

Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be done to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her. (RSV Luke 1:28-38)

The child Jesus was born in Bethlehem and Mary presented him in the Temple according to the custom of the day. She and Joseph fled to Egypt to escape the wrath of Herod and the family remained there for a number of years till such time as they were told by an angel to return home.

When Jesus was twelve, the family went to Jerusalem for the feast of Passover. He became separated from his family. Mary and Joseph found him in the Temple three days later speaking to the teachers, listening to them and  asking them questions. After that they took him home to Nazareth and "he was obedient to them." and "his mother kept all these things in her heart."

Mary accompanied Jesus during his public life and she was with him when he died on Calvary. She helped with his burial and she rejoiced at the Resurrection. She was present with the Apostles on Pentecost Sunday. After Jesus’ Ascension into Heaven she may have lived with the Beloved disciple—St John.

The Catholic Church teaches that Mary never sinned
and when she died she was assumed body and soul into Heaven. There she is our intercessor and we give her special honor

Mary. You are the highest honor of the human race!
