Lord that I may see where I err in living your eight commandment!
Have I failed: -Have I lied about someone?
-Have I not respected the reputation of others?
-Have I hurt family or friends by spreading rumors or being
-uncharitable?
-Have I failed to keep secrets?
-Have I failed to safeguard the good name of others?
-Have I failed to do unto others as I would have them do to myself?
-Have I been unkind in my judgment of others?
Lord, we live in a time when truth is not respected. Give me a great love for truth and help me to be a truthful person.
9. “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife”
Lord, help me to understand my inordinate sexual desires, put them in right order and let them go.
Have I failed:-to watch over the desires of my heart
-“Out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery fornication” (Mt.
- 15:10)
-Have I allowed myself to indulge in sexual thoughts and desires.
Lord, help me to control all inordinate sexual desires and protect me against what ever might lead me into sin.
10.”Thou shalt not covet Thy neighbor’s goods”
Have I failed:-Have I desired to keep unjustly what belongs to another?
-Have I been envious at the success of another?
-Have I had immoderate desires to have what belongs to another?
-Have I failed to act with good will and humility?
-Have I failed to abandon my life to God and be led by His Spirit?
Lord, keep me from wanting material goods, honors or jobs that are not in my best interest. Help me to rejoice at the success of others.
Remember that serious, or mortal sins, are forgiven in the sacrament of Penance.
Lord, please grant us the grace of sorrow for sin and the grace to make a good confession. We praise and thank you God for the personal love you have for each one of us. Amen.
