Considering that the readers of these letters could be others than you, then as usual I should often make some explanations regarding some matters that could be misunderstood. This time it is about the difference of A.M. and P.M. in time, after I wrote my previous letter about my gathering with some ex-senior high school friend at Canton Bay restaurant. In that letter of " A Moving Down Monthly Gathering from Crystal Jade to Canton Bay" there was a sentence "………approaching 2.30 pm, some of my friends began to leave the premise……..". It might have caused some misunderstandings, as if 2.30 PM was in the after midnight. This misunderstanding could have been caused by some experiences in reading some invitations in English, whereas usually the invitation time is 7 PM or 8 PM, which is in the evening. So PM is misunderstood as evening time, and AM is day time. And they could be too busy to find the answer about this AM and PM matter in the internet or in other sources. Therefore I should explain about it here. PM has the meaning of post meridiem ( p.m., "past midday"), the p.m. period runs from noon to midnight. Although in some invitations, 7 PM or 8 PM is in the evening, but that does not necessarily mean 1 PM or 2 PM or 3 PM are in the evening too, because the PM period is from the middle of the day to the middle of the night. So the meaning of 2.30 PM is 2.30 o’clock past midday, or in the afternoon, not after midnight.

Another misunderstanding is about the city of Melbourne in Florida, U.S.A., which occurred in the caption of a photo in my letter around two years ago. It caused misunderstanding as if I have told a lie, because Melbourne is usually known as a city in Australia, not in the U.S. So I herewith should explain here that besides the Melbourne in Australia, there is also another Melbourne in Florida, U.S.A. like could be viewed in the above maps.
