Today I had my first try at a bottle. I had the sucking part down, but just couldn't get the swallowing and breathing down at the same time. I gave it a good try though.

Today the nurses helped me make a Mother's Day card for my mommy. I put my footprint on it and the nurses signed my name and put how much I weighed. By the way my weight is three pounds and three ounces. I am a BIG girl. I'm starting to get chubby too! I am really blossoming. My mommy and daddy got there in time to help with my bottle feeding. I once again had the suck, but not the swallow. I got really excited and forgot to breathe. But all in all I gave it a really good try.

I didn't do my bottlefeeding today because my heart rate went up to high and they didn't want me to get too stressed out. But I am still taking my feeds good through my feeding tube. I am up to 32 ccs every three hours. They are trying to get my caffeine straight to help control my heart rate.

Today when my mommy and daddy came to visit they took alot of pictures. I smiled before and after they clicked the camera, but wouldn't smile for the pictures. Hehe I'm such a silly sometimes. They held me while I at my food. I'm up to 34 ccs of food every three hours and weigh 1522 grams which is 3 pounds and 5 1/2 oz. Oh yeah I got bottle fed again today. I kept sucking and forgetting to breathe again, but eventually I will get this whole bottle thing down.

Today has been an ordinary day, or as ordinary as it can be here.  I am up to 3 pounds and 8 ounces.  My doctors said that I get to do my bottle feedings two times a day now instead of one!  That makes mommy so happy.  There are going to be therapists helping me work with the bottle so I can do it better.  My daddy came all by himself to see me today.  We had quite the little talk.  Don't tell my mommy, but he has a huge crush on her.  Mommy went to see Auntie Robin graduate.  She says that she'll be back soon though.  Well, I think that I'll go so I can talk to my nurses.  Somebody has to keep them in line.

Today my mommy got back from Grandma Goodman's. She came to see me with Grandma Goodman and Auntie Robin. I was wide awake when they came. I did so good that all three of them got to hold me. They were all delighted about it. It was Grandma and Robin'g first time to hold me so I think they were really excited about it. All of us girls talked and had alot of fun.

Today mommy helped the nurse give me a bath for the first time. It was really fun for her, but I don't like baths to well and I was mad about the whole situation. After my bath I got bottle fed and took the whole bottle! I still have problems with my coordination but am getting much better. My mommy and daddy were so proud the cuddled me alot afterward and kept saying good job Aubrey. I cuddled up against my daddy's chest for a really long time and loved it. Then they put me back in my isolette and I went to sleep because all the excitement wore me out.

I did really good today on my bottle feedings, still having bit of trouble with it though. I know I will get it down soon though. My homecoming is getting very soon. The doctor talked to my mommy and daddy about my follow up care. He says I need to see a geneticist from the Children's Hospital. I need to see him because the soft spot on the back of my head is more prominant than the one on the front and it's supposed to be the other way around. I'm not real sure what exactly that means for me though. Hopefully nothing bad. The doctor also said that I would come home on oxygen and an apnea monitor. But the good news is I'M COMING HOME SOON! I can't wait could you tell? I just gotta get that darn bottle feeding down first. So right now that is what I am doing, that and gaining weight. I am up to 3 pounds and not quite 16 ounces which is almost 4 pounds. I'm a big girl now!
IT'S PARTY TIME!
After 98 days in the UAMS hospital, I finally was well enough to go home. I was the oldest baby in the nursery (3 months and 1 week).I came home on an apnea monitor and oxygen for my feeding. I still have some feeding issues, but we're working on that. I love it now I can be cuddled all the time. My mommy almost never puts me down. Here's some recent pictures of me. Oh yeah my discharge weight was 4 lbs. and 7 oz. You can go to the photo album to see more pictures.

Hey believe it or not, I'm a year old. I just got out of the hospital (had severe case of bronchitis) in time to go to my birthday party. Hopefully I don't have to go back to another hospital for a long time. I'm right around twelve pounds and twenty five inches tall. YAY!

I went to the endocrine doctor in Little Rock today. It was a long trip to ride looking at the back of the seat. I am up to 13.9 pounds and still 25 inches tall. The doctors say I have a rare disorder called Russell Silver Syndrome that makes me stay so little, but they're working on a way to help me out.

My Early Intervention Coordinator came to check my yearly progress today. She says I am delayed in my gross motor, fine motor, cognitive, language, self help, and social skills. On the bright side of things, I am crying less when she comes around. So I'm going to continue my physical therapy, occupational therapy, and development therapy and see if I can't improve by the next evaluation.

I had yet another endocrine appointment at Children's today. Since I'm still not catching up on my growth, they are going to do an AITT test to see if I'm growth hormone deficient. I have a feeling this is not going to be fun.

Well guess what? Back to Little Rock again. My endocrine doctor has decided that I would benefit from growth hormone and I'll be staring it shortly.
