Several points could be clarified here. First of all, "absolute truth" and "subjective truth" here refer just to the serious section of the website, and the non-serious section, respectively. Calling this section "absolute truth" is not meant to convey that anything said here is necessarily true. They are generally very opinionated.
Second, it should be noted that the links expressing opinions are not necessarily something with which the Snipe agrees, though often this will be the case.
Thirdly, any opinions offered by the Snipe are to be taken as opinions, though we usually try to support them with pretty good evidence.
Fourthly, the intention of any criticism offered is not merely to criticize. The motivations are dual: to present the truth for truth itself's sake, and for the sake of improvement.
Fifthly, in the event of the Snipe saying anything rude, the Snipe profusely apologizes in advance and we beg the visitor to the website to email us (dbusnipe@yahoo.com) and set us straight. The Great Paradox is incredibly difficult to walk.
Sixthly, though we offer a ton of critiques of various things here, we know we're not perfect and we don't claim to be. We don't say that anyone we criticize doesn't hold Jesus Christ as their personal lord and savior. We just don't like some of the things they do.
Seventhly, even though at the moment most or all correspondents are Republicans (Texas Baptists, what'd you expect?), we absolutely do not think that Christians have to vote Republican. WE ABSOLUTELY DO THINK THAT CHRISTIANS SHOULD VOTE PRO-LIFE (and, so, often Republican: see democratsforlife.com for the notable exceptions). Christians have an important (if slightly lesser) responsibility to care for the poor, though that doesn't necessarily mean it's always or even usually the government's job. Christians have an important (if lesser) responsibility to be good stewards of the environment and the economy. If Democrat DBU students want to post (we invite them to!), email dbusnipe@yahoo.com.
Finally, as an American I vow to defend to the death a person's right to think what they want, even when I disagree with them, even if it's wrong. (Though I will hold them to their word, if they promise to try to not be wrong). A number one goal of the Snipe site is free speech. Free speech rocks. Long live America!
