Using a theme for your display

    Should you use a theme in you displays?  Well,  this is a choice that is completely yours.  As far as making the display an eye catching and memorable, then there are things which you can do to improve them.

     Why are we covering it if it does not affect the display as much.   Well, there wee a few points I wanted to make.

     I have seen themes used in many displays.  They are great, but,  they are very much for people who know about what is being features.  To others they tend to be seen as a little bland.  This is because you are very limited in what artifacts you can place in the display.

     Great uses of themes tend to be for education.  They would allow you to show someone the difference between grayware and Sevier gray pottery.   While this would be wonderful for anyone here where the Fremont lived, someone in Mississippi might not find it as fascinating.

     I have used themes for side frames, but you really have to depend on the design to hold peoples attention.

     My advise on this subject is;

If your intent is to create a masterpiece display that would set above the mantle and be forever remembered stick with the mixed display.

If your intent is to have a display that you may teach other with and have to hang in the den then using a theme is the best display for that.
