what is the purpose of alseid?

alseid is a site fulla this and that and whatevers about dilandau of tenkuu no escaflowne. we hope to bring out the quirkiness of dilandau and to be entertaining, too. we also want to bring out how fantastically awesome his seiyuu, takayama minami is and how freaking cool her band, two-mix, is.

so, uh, what's alseid mean?

alseid is one of those obscure words that you'll probably never ever see again in your entire life. it is the greek nymph of the grotto (grotto? what's that? obscure? naaah). if you don't know what nymphs are, they are the female spirits of nature, each assigned to a particular element or aspect of nature, such as mountains, rivers, meadows, oceans, trees, grottos, etc. well, they're usually associated with being female since nymph does mean "young woman"... i guess they could be male... who knows. anyway, they are usually immortal or extremely long-lived and eternally young and beautiful.

and this relates to dilandau how?

this relates to him because his guymelef is called alseides, and the shortened and easy form of it is just plain alseid. we could have called ourselves oread, but decided it was just way too tacky.

okay, so what's with the dilandeau spelling?

everyone wants to stand out somehow. no, dilandeau is not a typo. it's just the result of two years of french class taking a creative toll upon my feeble brain. the real spelling of his name is probably closest to dilandau or dilando, depending i guess on whether or not you watch the anime or read the manga. *hanaks's note: due to matters beyond our control, dilandeau can no longer do webmastering for alseid. we'll miss you, deau boy*

who's hanako then?

hanako is the webmasterette. the all-powerful awesome girl that controls the place. do you really wanna know who exactly she is?
