Setting: USS HATHOR, Bridge
Stardate: 60331.1030

Sitting in her chair in the center of the bridge, the Romulan/Terran hybrid nervously waited for the COO's report on the HATHOR's performance. Having been aware of the engineering staff's work on fixing the problems with the inertial dampeners caused by unexplained power surges, the CO had been anxiously waiting for news of their progress. Waiting had been hard, but that time had been nothing in comparison to the wait the entire bridge staff was in the middle of.

Following the report from Lt. Fairborn that the problem had likely been fixed, the Romulan/Terran hybrid had given the order to bring the HATHOR back up to cruising speed, instructing Ens. Kea to keep a very close watch on the readouts of the inertial dampeners just in case. Traveling at warp 3.5, the crew's tension was increasing in direct relation to the ship's speed, everyone bracing themselves just in case the problem reoccurred once they hit warp 4.

Holding on to the flight control station with both hands, the Hirogen replayed to the rest of the bridge staff the HATHOR's speed as it drew closer to the anticipated number. "Warp 3.8… 3.9… warp 4!"

Looking around the bridge the Romulan/Terran hybrid was pleased to see everyone still standing if not appearing a little surprised. Having confidence in the work of Lt. Fairborn and Lt. Dawson did not mean that the crew had not expected there to be a few more bugs in the systems of the HATHOR. Turning her chair to face the station of the COO, the CO asked, "Ens. Kea what are the systems Readings?"

Taking a moment to carefully review all of the information being displayed at his station, the COO nodded his head appearing pleased with what he had read and would be reporting to the HATHOR's CO. "Everything seems to be in order. Power flow is constant and every system including the inertial dampeners are working at maximum efficiency."

Turning her chair back to face the front of the bridge the Romulan/Terran hybrid wasted no time in opening a comm. channel to the engineering department to relay her appreciation for the work done. "Bridge to engineering."

Responding to the call, the CEO's voice filled the bridge with a calmness that only the Oltharian could convey in his voice and the few words he spoke. =/\= Lt. Fairborn here, how may we help? =/\=

Wishing that she would be able to have an engineering team as efficient and dedicated as the one she current had once she would have a ship of her own, the Romulan/Terran hybrid allowed more emotion to lace her voice then she normally permitted. "I just wanted to congratulate you and your staff on a job well done and to see if you believe we can push the engines to their limit."

Waiting for the answer to come, the HATHOR's CO tried to imagine how David had been doing under the supervision of the Oltharian and while being watched by Garrity. Knowing what the ANUBIS' CEO had endured over the last little while, at least in some ways, the Romulan/Terran hybrid felt as if Dawson had been somehow singled out.

Hearing the voice of Lt. Fairborn brought the CO back on the matter at hand, that of the HATHOR and its engines. =/\= Everything seems to be in order, but we will be ready should another problem arise. =/\=

Smiling inwardly the Romulan/Terran hybrid glanced over to Ens. Kea to confirm that everything on his end was also reading ready for them to push the engines and truly give the HATHOR the test that it was meant to receive. "Thank you lieutenant, keep up the great work."

Continuing in his usual tone, the Oltharian relayed the gratitude of the staff. =/\= It is a pleasure and honor to serve captain. =/\=

Closing the comm. channel with engineering, the Romulan/Terran hybrid stood from her chair and approached the front of the bridge and the FCO station. "Helm, increase speed to maximum warp, but do it nice and easy just in case another part of this ship decided to give us some trouble."

Nodding his understanding the FCO closely monitored the increasing speed of the HATHOR as the ship was made to travel faster and faster. Increasing their speed had turned days into hours and even minutes as they continued their way to the KARRABY CLUSTER and the weapon's training ground where the ship's tactical systems would be next to be tested.
