The Vulcan FCO looked at what was left of his security team. Not one of
which was not injured in some manner. One crewman he held little hope for,
if they could not get help soon.
When they had reached deck four with Ensign Kea they had split into two
groups with the OPS officer looking for survivors and Derek and his group
doing reconnaissance, looking for the points of entry and to try to get a
count on the enemy forces. No sooner had they split than all communication
was lost. His group found the first hull breach, and the fight was on.
Their weapons useless but still they fought while retreating, taking
casualties. Wherever they could they dropped emergency bulkheads or tried
to erect delaying force fields. Yet it was all for almost nothing, delaying
the Imperians for only the space of minutes each time.
Finally facing the fact he was not serving his ship or those with him by
staying, he led them through a Jeffries tube to main engineering. They just
managed to slip past the Imperians to the shuttle bay. The only place to
hide was on his ship.
With most all ship systems either down or unreliable he could not launch
unless he wanted to blow the bay doors off, which his human half said would
probably really anger the Captain. Still without communication he could not
know the status of the ongoing battle. So the logical option was to power up
and see what information his ship might be able to discern.
As his systems came online his sensors began to asses the HATHOR's damage.
It was not pretty almost all systems were down. Life support looked as if it
was under some sort of electronic attack. Well his ships functions were
solid time to see if he could do anything.
--
The Romulan hybrid was frustrated, not only were her hands tied as her ship
was slowly being destroyed around her. She had no communications internally
or with the ANUBIS. She knew the marines had landed; they had a plan but
could not warn the marines or ship's company of what to expect.
Since her OPS officer had barely been able to return the bridge just before
all possible exits had been sealed, Serenna and Kea had tried everything but so far had had no luck with the communication system. She could see his
frustration mounting suddenly, he exploded.
"Damn it nothing wants to work!" Ensign Kea exclaimed and slammed both his fists down on the console. There was a series of tones and than...
=^= Stor...ind to ...idge do ... opy? =^=
Ensign Kea looked stunned that his pounding of the console had seemed to work, both he and the Captain didn’t even hesitate, their fingers flying
over the consol making quick adjustments.
"Bridge to Stormwind, if you hear me boost your gain, repeat boost your gain!"
A tight smile was on Serenna’s face as she waited for an answered.
=^= Storm... to bridge do you copy? =^=
Although there was a lot of static and background noise, the Captains smile
was now a grin. "This is the Captain what is your status?"
=^= Captain, my security team is heavily injured, we are aboard the
DRAGONSEYE. I have powered up but cannot launch without blowing the bay
doors. =^=
"Ensign, do you have contact with the ANUBIS?"
=^= Negative... Personal Transporter also offline, unable to site to
site. =^=
Looking up at her XO/CEO she spoke almost in a whisper. "Can you contact
the marines or any other parts of the ship?"
=^= Stand by... =^=
The bridge was deathly silent as they waited, no one hardly breathing.
Suddenly the bridge speakers let out a wail of static and noise.
=^= Stormwind to crew... The ANUBIS has arrived and the marines are on board
stay where you are if possible... =^=
A collected sigh rose from the bridge crew. Serenna looked at David and they
both smiled. The XO/CEO went back to his board and doubled his efforts. The
blond ship's captain turned to face the consol and spoke... "Ensign
Stormwind we have a plan in mind this is what I need you to do..." She
quickly outlined the plan and the need to warn the marines and the rest of
the crew.
--
Derek leaned back in the command chair digesting the bold plan the captain
had just outlined to him. But to make it work they had to have communication
with the marines to coordinate everyone.
No matter how hard he tried he could not raise anyone other than the bridge,
but he knew he could broadcast in the open. That was what the captain
wanted, for him to put her in touch with the Marine CO.
Pitching his voice to as closely mimic a computer as possible he began.
=^= Attention Lt. Pravat report to Deflector Control... Repeat... Lt Pravat
report to Deflector Control... Activate communications circuit
177-alpha. =^=
The half Vulcan FCO hoped the marine CO could get there, if he did and
managed to get the circuit in place then the DRAGONSEYE would act as a relay
station and allow him contact the bridge at least.
All Derek could do was wait, he got up and turned to his injured crewmates
and began to do what he could to ease their pains.
