| History: Major blonde bombshell? Former WWE Women's Champion? Playboys Sex Star of the Millenium? Who has all these qualifications? Rena Mero. No doubt, this name sperns a reaction from wrestling fans. Good or bad, everyone has their opinion about this buxom Diva. Oppitimizing the word "diva" with her cocky better than thou attitude, this girl turned the wrestling world upside down with her short, yet lucrative career in the WWE. Brought in, soley based on her looks and body as "Sable" she quickly rose to a stardom unexpected. Getting a major pust from the higher ups, she became the single most popular diva ever in the history of the WWE. (This was later overshot by several other divas). She feuded several times with Jackie and Luna, and put on some impressive matches during her time with the WWE. She held the Women's Title and played parts in major storylines involving Vince McMahon, Steve Austin, and her own husband Marc Mero. Upon leaving the WWE, she made one brief appearance on WCW Nitro, But never went to work for the company. As we all saw, the woman hired for her body wanted more respect backstage and didn't want to be objectified. So, she graced Playboys cover 3 times within a years span, and subsquently left the WWE under diress. She has appeared on numerous tv shows and radio shows to promote projects, which never seem to pan out. None the less, she is a talented actress and true athlete. Upon leaving the WWE and settling a lawsuit with the company, she began to pursue and acting career. However we have yet to see her in mainstream movies or tv shows. She proved her acting abilites on the USA show Pacific Blue, Playing a prison inmate. More recently she has been advertised to be appearing at some small independant wrestling shows, to sign autographs. Like her or not, she was a major part of wrestling history, and was the reason for the women's rise in the WWE, which we see now more than ever (coming up on Wrestlemania where many women are expected to play key roles). The WWE changed with her, and opened its doors to more physical women. SHe was a major ingredient in bringing back the Women's championship belt, which is now being displayed on such athletes as Lita and Ivory. Rena Mero has taken part in indie shows and made various personal appearances alongside modelling, music videos, and minor roles in movies, etc over the past few years. The WWE re-signed Rena in March 2003 to a new longterm contract and she returned to our screens on the April 3 episode of Smackdown, totall un-announced and in a shocking way. Since her return she has enjoyed a weird love/hate relationship with Torrie Wilson, the feud has taken many turns and some of her appearances on episodes of Smackdown have been the highest rated segments of the entire show. She teamed with Torrie to take on Nidia and Dawn Marie in April but left Torrie to fight on her own, thus losing the match. Sable finally challenged Torrie Wilson to, not any old challenge, but a Bikini Challenge. The two divas gave the fans a sneak preview of things to come on the episode of Smackdown prior to the PPV and on May 18 on Judgment Day they met in the ring, with Tazz hosting and the fans deciding the winner. Both ladies stipped and it was obviously clear to the viewers that Sable got the louder pop, some fans even booed Torrie. Torrie ended up revealing another bikini and was awarded the win and gave Sable a kiss after the match. After being back in the WWE for two months Sable was already gracing the cover of the June Issue of Raw magazine. An exclusive interview with the blonde bombshell, where she talks about her shock return, as well as pictures and a poster were inside the issue. She would later be revealed as Stephanie McMahon's assistant during an episode of Smackdown that aired in June 2003. Could we see the start of a Stephanie vs Sable rivalry?
