Fully aware that it was his turn and very reluculant to leave his sister behind, Acerbu shifted his feet uncomfortably. "I really must go on my own?" he asked Kokuuzou, resting after sending Daichi on. "Yes, Venia said we must all go to different places." Sighing resignedly, Acerbu took his sister's hand. "You will be careful, yes? Don't trust anyone so easily." he warned affectionately. Akarui smiled her blithe smile back at him, making the surroundings seem brighter. "I will, my brother. Maybe I'm not as gullible as you think."
Mayoke interrupted them unexpectedly by placing her fingertips to Acerbu's forehead. His knees crumpled out from underneath him as her powers drew him far away, to a cold place amongst the stars. Hearing fuzzy-sounding shouts that he presumed her Akarui's, Acerbu tried to focus more clearly upon the place he was being projected to. It appeared to be a giant wheel drifting over a large, brown planet. Before he could adequately realize where this place was, Mayoke released him. Acerbu's consciousness was roughly snapped back to his body and the screaming stopped. Akarui was right there, pulling him up by his arm concernedly.
"Who was screaming?" he slurred to her as his muscles regained the ability to support his weight. "You were, Acerbu." Her voice seemed shaken and she was watching him worriedly. "I was?" Mayoke again interrupted with a gentle clearing of her throat. "You will go to a place called Star City." Acerbu blinked. "Star City? What I saw appeared to be a giant ship of some sort..." "Either way, we must hurry. Aether cannot wait and I can't keep this image in my mind for long." Kokuuzou reached out and grabbed Acerbu's hand.
The purple dragon's claws began to move in the pattern for the transportation spell, tracing symbols and words into the air. Before Acerbu had time to prepare, a black nothingness swallowed him. Darkness was nothing Acerbu wasn't used to, being the One of Darkness, but the alacrity with which this nothingness rushed over him startled Acerbu. Drifting along in much the same way as he had when Mayoke had done her spellwork on him, Acerbu caught sight of that same object in space. At first it seemed a great distance away, nothing more than a black smudge on the brown surface of the planet. But suddenly it seemed someone had hit fast-forward on what Acerbu was seeing and he was sent hurting toward the station.
The speed was so great that he was sure he was going to run into the outer hull and threw up his arms to protect himself, but the moment of impact never came. He found himself again floating in black nothing. He was abruptly spat out onto cold, metallic floor after a few seconds in the void. Giving a bugle of surprise, he quickly splayed his claws and scraped them along the floor to slow down his rapid slide. The horrendous screeching sound that they made as he attempted to stop caused those in the immediate area to flinch and cover their ears. Once stopped, Acerbu stood shakily and found himself face-to-face with a brilliantly orange dragon.
Hiya! she said brightly, a pair of deep purple eyes twinkling in her distinctly round face. "Uh...hi." The smaller female dragon took a few steps back as Acerbu fanned his wings and made sure nothing was injured. He then shifted to his human form. The orange gave a small bugle of surprise. Your part human! Are you Avengaean? Are you a demon? The last half of her sentence was said in a deathly quiet voice as she backed off a few more steps, afraid.
"Uh...no, not that I'm aware of...I'm Acerbu of Darkness, from Aether." This seemed to satisfy the frightful look on her face and the orange practically pranced around him. So, where's your bond? she asked as Acerbu took in his surroundings. "I don't have one." he replied absently. Oh! You're one of those offworld unbonded! Come with me, there's a clutch on the sands you'd be perfect for! Aiiigh!!!
Acerbu spun around to see what had caused her to squeal just in time to leap out of the way of a large, purple dragon skidding from the portals in much the same way as he himself had moments ago. "Kokuuzou?" he exclaimed once the purple came to a stop. "Acerbu? How..." The void mage rose slowly and shifted to human form as Acerbu had done. "I thought you said that we had to bring something back from different places." Kokuuzou shrugged and scanned the room they were in, eyes resting on the slightly awe-struck orange. There are TWO of you...are you sure you're not demons? She narrowed one purple eye at the both of them.
"We aren't demons, milady. Could you kindly show us to where we could aquire lodging?" Kokuuzou adopted his more flattering personality and bowed to the orange, who preened. Acerbu rolled his eyes and crossed his arms across his chest. Well, if you sign up for one of the clutches the lodging is free...I think...Anyway! You HAVE to sign up for them! You two would be perfect for the xeno clutch on the sands... she gave a slight shudder at the thought of the "xeno" clutch, whatever that was. Acerbu opened his mouth and was about to tell the orange off when Kokuuzou cut in. "Excellent, we would like to stand for your xeno clutch. Could you point us in the direction of...where it is located?" The orange warbled happily and nodded toward a wall of doors that opened to accept throngs of people or to spit them out.
Take those lifts up four decks and you'll be at the Hatching Bays. Someone can help you out there...'bye! the orange dragon called and scampered off to places unknown. "You actually want to stand at this xeno thing?" Acerbu asked, eyeing the taller void mage. "Yes, I do and so do you. I think these creatures bond to other lifeforms at birth, maybe that is what we'll need to push back Atrox. You saw how she reacted when she spoke of these xenos, they are feared amid the general population. Now come, let's hurry." With that, Kokuuzou began to jog toward the lifts in the corner, Acerbu trailing behind grudgingly.
