Basically, the series is about a little red-haired boy called Ichimura Tetsunosuke, who desperately wants to join the Shinsengumi, an elite group of swordsmen otherwise known as the 'Protectors of Kyoto'. A violent incident in Mibu, however, caused them to be called the Miburo (wolves of Mibu) *i'm getting ahead of myself here*
The whole story revolves around this, and if you know your Japanese history, you'd know that Tetsu was accepted eventually. It happens pretty early in the anime, but what Tetsu doesn't count on is that he is accepted as a page. To make things worse, he is the page of the demonic Fukuchou (second-in-command) and can never seem to meet the his demands (think of boy cinderella. you'd be pretty close.). What happens later? Aha. I'm not gonna spoil that for you! *grins* It may seem boring, but seriously, if you want comedy, action, or just a plain old love story, this anime has it all. technically it's a shounen anime, but it could pass for a shoujo anime too (the characters are all SO kakoii!!!!)
