Fun, funny and tiny, Nagakura seems to be the grown-up version of Tetsu (see the hair resemblance!). He is an excellent swordsman and heads the Second Unit. Nagakura is a good friend of Harada Sanosuke, and the two are rarely seen far from each other. Nagakura, Harada and Toudou Heisuke make up what the Shinsengumi calls the 'Comedian Three' (you can see why *roll eyes*). Despite his small size, he can defeat larger opponents with seeming ease. He has a strong sense of justice and hates seeing others being bullied. He will always help a friend in need. A good example of this is in the 8th episode, where our little Chibi was pining for a sashinryo (sword set). He gave his old wakizashi to Tetsu as a gift to 'make the Chibi happy'. Nagakura likes to win (maybe it's the short stature syndrome that psychiatrists are ranting about), and he shows his competitive nature in episode 6, where he ran the marathon and was actually ahead of much larger guys like Sano and Toudou.
