Introducing Ichimura Tetsunosuke, the main character in this series. Small in height but big on courage, this tiny fella will charm his way into your heart after a few episodes. He is reckless, loud, rude and highly volatile. His parents were killed by the Choushuu (the opposing group) and he wants to avenge them by joining the shinsengumi. Saizou seems to hate Tetsu for some reason, and never fails to chase the little guy around and around the shinsengumi tonsho, irritating Hijikata to the extreme. Okita Souji is friends with him and infact, helped him to enter the Shinsengumi. Both Okita and Tatsunosuke (his bro) worry endlessly about him, though Souji's a little more discreet about it than Tatsu... *heehee* Hijikata also cares about Tetsu in his own stern way, and refuses to let him hold a katana. Souji thinks that it is because Hijikata does not want to make the same mistake that he made with him (refer to ep 7 summary or Okita Souji).
Tetsu is the only member in the entire Shinsengumi that dares to practise with Okita. Okita, the number one swordsman in the Shinsengumi, has one small problem. He can'y control his strength, and will go all out even with a beginner *yipes* Tetsu was injured the first time he fought Okita, but he still keeps going back for more *sigh* he never learns...
Incidentally, the kanji for Tetsu means 'steel' or 'iron'. It kind of reflects his iron will to join the Shinsengumi, duncha think?
Watch this page! I'll update it as the series progresses... There's definitely more to Tetsu than meets the eye...
