Quotable Quotes: 'Though the body may perish in the fields of Musashi, there shall remain the Japanese soul.'
A disciple of Yoshida Shouin, this fanatic plans to continue his master's work until his death. As such, he joined Choushuu to overthrow the Shogunate government. Yoshida accepted Suzu as a disciple after Suzu's brother's death, and encouraged him to take revenge on the Shinsengumi (the Shinsengumi killed Suzu's brother). Yoshida does care for Suzu in some way, though I feel that Yoshida is also using Suzu to meet his own ends. Yoshida has a cool, calm demeanour that is extremely intimidating. All the other members of Choushuu seen so far treat him with the greatest respect.

Yoshida will not hesitate to kill someone who does not please him, even if the person is his own disciple. After the incident where some men of Choushuu caused a disturbance outside Masuya, he killed the men in question with a sick smile on his face, though those men were his disciples.

**note: The men he killed were not 'disciples' in the same sense as Suzu, but called Yoshida their 'sensei'. They were people under his instruction but not as intimately involved with him as Suzu was.
