They run like silk, flowing
Over the hill, a blur of silver,
Gold, as if their legs were
Invented for hills, for chasing
The sound of rabbits.
When they rest, it is always
Next to us. At night, the blonde
Dog slips into bed, the silver
Creeps up next to her, and they
Lie, back to back, like any
Married couple.
