(Rom 5:15 NLT) And what a difference between our sin and God's generous gift of forgiveness. For this one man, Adam, brought death to many through his sin. But this other man, Jesus Christ, brought forgiveness to many through God's bountiful gift.
(Rom 5:16 NLT) And the result of God's gracious gift is very different from the result of that one man's sin. For Adam's sin led to condemnation, but we have the free gift of being accepted by God, even though we are guilty of many sins.
(Rom 5:17 NLT) The sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over us, but all who receive God's wonderful, gracious gift of righteousness will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.
(Rom 5:18 NLT) Yes, Adam's one sin brought condemnation upon everyone, but Christ's one act of righteousness makes all people right in God's sight and gives them life.
(Rom 5:19 NLT) Because one person disobeyed God, many people became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many people will be made right in God's sight.

(1 Cor 1:18 NLT) I know very well how foolish the message of the cross sounds to those who are on the road to destruction. But we who are being saved recognize this message as the very power of God.
(1 Cor 1:19 NLT) As the Scriptures say, "I will destroy human wisdom and discard their most brilliant ideas."
(1 Cor 1:20 NLT) So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world's brilliant debaters? God has made them all look foolish and has shown their wisdom to be useless nonsense.
(1 Cor 1:21 NLT) Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never find him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save all who believe.
(1 Cor 1:22 NLT) God's way seems foolish to the Jews because they want a sign from heaven to prove it is true. And it is foolish to the Greeks because they believe only what agrees with their own wisdom.
(1 Cor 1:23 NLT) So when we preach that Christ was crucified, the Jews are offended, and the Gentiles say it's all nonsense.
(1 Cor 1:24 NLT) But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, Christ is the mighty power of God and the wonderful wisdom of God.
(1 Cor 1:25 NLT) This "foolish" plan of God is far wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God's weakness is far stronger than the greatest of human strength.
(John 14:6 NKJV) Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
